I think its hysterical that people with children think that the world of Restaurants should revolve around them. NO strollers in a small restaurant is normal.. actually it prevents a fire hazard you tart!! And no little place mats for your rug rats then put the food on a plate unless you are raising monkeys.. Geez people.
I think the food its great. Its pancakes.. they aren't hard to mess up but sometimes mistakes do happen..as for me.. I am not anal retentive and I don't expect much from a pancake house. Now a steak place sure. But lets get the priorites in order. I dont' need some smily waitress all the time.. frankly in the morning don't smile at me.. just give me my coffee and move along. For the people that think they are rude.. maybe you should check your behavior. They aren't your servants.. they work too. I was a waitress for years and a Kitchen manager and would recommend this place anyday. Its pancakes people..

Waitresses are rude... NO WAY!!!!!!! maybe because you people who gave this restuant a bad review gave them poor tip then you get bad service.I have seen that cause i have ate there for many years. It is a family place! Anway the pancakes are nice and hot. The muffins are delicous! The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. So if you want to go to IHOP. Which the food is not so great. Then go to CHP. Take my advice!!!!!!! =)

this place is definitely better than the park west and tick tock diners. don't get me wrong, those places are great to go late at night (because they are open!), but nothing all that special for breakfast. the country pancake house is awesome for breakfast though! it is always crowded, which is kind of a pain, but it is worth dealing with that for the quality of the food and all the yummy choices they have on their menu. and they give you A LOT of food...more than any "normal" person could ever eat in one sitting if you are ordering pancakes...because their pancakes are the size of frisbees and they give you 4 of them on one plate! i think they have reasonable prices for what you get too. great place...try it if you are in the neighborhood!

Im really wondering why some people hate it here
ive been to pancake houses in new york and over new jersey and this stil is the top one
The portions are huge (uhh yea, dinner plate size), the food is good, and the only problem are some of the waiters, ignore the problems with the waiters because they are that busy
I am really wondering how a place could be bad that is chockfull of people every second of every day during lunch
Oh yea speaking of ihop;
i went to ihop and had to barf afterwards

Anything you order is big. I been going for years and always happy with portions and the staff can be a bit nicer. Large amont of food for the price.

the pancakes are emormous, and the menu is extensive, you can get every conceiveable type of pancake you never heard of, the problem is, they are very dense, and although there are plenty of leftovers, they don't heat up well the next day either, but if you want light , fluffy pancakes go to Fishers Cafe on the blvd. in Hasbrouck Heights,

This Place Is the best

I've worked in Ridgewood for over 12 years now and I will tell you this is the best place for breakfast! The lunch is also fantastic. As far as the rude staff, you try and work there for even 1 hour with the crowd they get and try to have a smile plastered from ear to ear all day! The place is small and a little tight, but the service is by no means horrible. Maybe the snobs who go there need to control their children so the wait staff can move through easier and just because you're out paying for the meal doesn't mean you should allow your children to run around and also throw their food all over the place which I have experienced in there several times. Give the waitstaff a break will you!
