Nicola Bevacqua established the Reservoir in 1936 to showcase his expertise in Italian cuisine and with every generation of owners, all Bevacquas, the food has only gotten better. Everything from appetizers to entrees comes in oversized portions and nothing on the menu fails to delight. However, a trip to the Reservoir without pizza is nearly sacrilegious. The pizza falls directly on the cusp of thin crust and chewy, and the sauce delivers a kick that'll leave you wondering what makes it taste so much better than all the pizza you've eaten in the past. For those who like to add onto their pizza, the chef heaps on the toppings. In addition to the food, the down-home atmosphere has made the eatery a favorite among families. The Reservoir shuns generic bar ads and neon in favor of pictures of high school sports teams and area luminaries like Lou Duva, Rich Romano and Tom Kean. More local Elks Lodge than traditional tavern. Bevacqua's Reservoir has been around for nearly 70 years and people still can't stop talking about the pizza.

You have got to be kidding me!!!
I grew up down the street from this place and have had to SUFFER through enough meals there to know that I have no clue what people are thinking when they go there. It is the grossest most disgusting food I have ever eaten and the staff is extremely rude.... I was sent there once to pick up food for a friend and since I was only 20 at the time and the pick up spot is at the bar they made me wait outside in the rain... they wouldn't even let me stand in the hallway when you walk in... They SUCK!!!! I ordered a meatball sandwich once and it came on wonder bread!!! No self respecting Italian serves anything on WONDER BREAD! No real Italian could go there and enjoy their food. The only reason I gave it a one star rating is b/c I was prompted to give it a star rating in order to submit my review, otherwise a negitive star score is what i would give this place. If you want good pizza in that area of Parsippany drive the 2 extra minutes and go to Pasquales or Top of the Park on main st in Boonton.. anywhere but there!
Nyyanks333 - 10/05/2009Tiny. It sounds as though you are an angry individual. are you that tiny that you have a huge weight on your shoulders or maybe its just some parts of your body are tiny?
Great Place!
I use to go with my Dad when he worked on the refrigeration in th 60's. Great place. My Dad would get me a birch beer on tap and pretzel sticks at the bar. We lived in Boonton Township and when we wanted pizza we called ahead and drove about 8 miles to pick it up.
Simply the Best!!!
My Mom and Dad were there when it opened..I have been going to the Tavern for 55 years...There are no bad dishes on the menu..ever...My kids now take their kids...Bravo!!!

I now live in Palm Desert,Ca. I grew up and lived in Jersey for many years
I brought my family on a visit and I made sure we had a pizza pie from the
Tavern. I miss it so muchbest pizza & pasta
I used to eat at the tavern every Friday night with my Ex husband when I lived in Parsippany. Since I moved to Sussex County I don't get there as frequently but I try to go as often as I can.
Vito from Pompton Lakes
This restaurant brings me back to my childhood (58yo). This is the pizza I remember. The crust and sauce is to die for. Everyone I bring there or recommend to go there all agree. Nick's homemade sausage is the BEST. I don't go often enough but when I do it's a real treat. Blondie and Nick treat all patrons like they're family and we feel the same way...A great place...

the best
we get takeout at least twice a month, everything is so good. we get pizza, meatball parm, chicken parm. the portions are huge. what makes the food so special is the incredible sauce and crust. when my friends and family visit from other states they always request Reservoir!
