Jersey isn't hurting for dance clubs, but there aren't many spots like New Brunswick's Perle. This understated, elegant club has the expected drink specials and college-friendly nights during the week, and the attitude (and forgiving dress code) is strictly Joisey. But the NYC-style accoutrements -- from VIP bottle service at tables to the bicameral lounge-dancehall divide -- are all in place. The lounge comes complete with an impressive wave bar and plush banquettes, and Platinum's dance floor (in another, much louder, room) is airy and minimalist. The music tends strongly toward house and hip-hop, but a rotating roster of guest DJs keeps things interesting. Platinum is about as close to NYC-club-kid cool as New Brunswick needs to be.

    nice layout, spacious, good sound system, music is AIGHT, bunch of shy young kids running around lookin like gangsters.

    i love the fact that i can go to a great club on wed thurs or fri and can smoke a cigarette, get in for free(ladies free!) and dress up, only pay $2 for parking, get pizza till 5am after they close at 2am and get to see hot bartenders...guys & girls! the music is good too! I don't have to go all the way to ny or sayerville to pay $20.00 to have fun in a trendy ambiance! :)

    i think platinum is OK. my friends are actually MC's and DJ's there on thursdays which are hip hop nights.
