Dave Anderson, a Native American businessman and the founder of Famous Dave's, is purported to have gone on a 25-year pilgrimage scouring the little roadside barbecue shacks of the Deep South and Midwest for the ideal barbecue recipe before starting up his first shack in Minneapolis. It's an appealing tale; it may even be true. In any case, the proof is in the product, and his pit-smoked barbecued ribs have won awards across the country. He's come up with five different sauces that reflect different regional variants of the barbecue taste, and packaged all of this lore into an extensive menu full of sandwiches and combos to meet every taste and price point. You can get a brisket or pulled-pork sandwich, or a half-rack of those award-winning ribs with corn on the cob, slaw and mashed potatoes.

    If you are looking for an inexpensive fun time out with the kids, this is the place to go. Great ribs and great atmosphere! The kids don't have to sit and be quiet! If you enjoy family style dining try the All American feast that can easily fead a family of 5! And for those with a yearning for spice try a little "Devil's Spit" on your ribs or pulled pork.

    Famous Dave's BBQ is just plain FAKE & CORPORATE. Kind of like the bbq you would get from TGI Fridays. UGH! Nothing but bad! Go to Big Ed's BBQ in Old Bridge for some REAL BBQ!!!

    Come early, because late diners will find the place packed. The food is excellent. The chicken wings cannot be beat, other great appetizers are the catfish fingers and the crawfish. The place is hog heaven for ribs. They have St. Louis style beef ribs and baby backs. The full rack is indeed a full rack, there is so much of it. Sausage is good as is the pulled pork sandwich. The wait staff is universally friendly and attentive, and despite the annoying-to-charming "my name is Famous So-and-so," they are personable. I take family and friends here regularly and we have never had a bad experience.
