Diva Lounge is hugely popular: It attracts an affluent, attractive clientele, including a healthy segment of local celebrities (Geraldo Rivera counts as a celebrity, right?) and athletes (Martin Brodeur, Michael Strahan). All that would be worthy of note in New York. Yeah, Diva may be a little expensive for a Jersey club (though the martinis are still cheaper than across the river). But it is surprisingly comfortable, with velvet couches that are actually soft, and copper-topped coffee tables placed in positions that are aesthetically and ergonomically efficient. The dance floor is always live, with different types of music every night of the week, and the gourmet tapas work well as a post-workout refill. Call in advance and reserve a table by the dance floor: it's yours for two hours, you have your own waitress and the $20 minimum goes by so quickly that you won't even notice. You'll be too busy noticing everything and everyone else.

What?
You New Yorkers talk so badly about New Jersey but then you come buy up our houses, come shopping in our malls, getaway to our beaches, and come to our clubs. Seriously, what is your deal?

Bring Earplugs

I was there once & once is enough. The music is too loud and the crowd is too young & they think they are so "hot.' This place is not for me!
Wow!

Diva never ceases to impress me. The new NYC decor is so cool, especially for NJ. They have a new dinner menu. My girlfriend and I celebrated our anniversary. They brought us a comp bottle of chamgane and chocolate covered strawberries! Never mind that Queen Latifah was in the booth across from us with her friends. Such a cool spot!
A New Jersey Night Club
There is not many night clubs in New Jersey, so you have to appreciate it just for that alone. The music was fun and so was the dancing the drink were not great at all but you can't have it all as they say!!
Saturdays

Saturday
I guess I would have had a good time if I were middle-aged and white... I'm not, therefore I had a terrible time. I see old white people all day at work, so it would be nice to see the opposite of that when I'm trying to have fun. On a more positive note, the old white people seemed to really enjoy themselves. Good for them. But as for me, I'll try my luck on a Weds for a younger more "hiphop"/ "urban" crowd.
The waitresses were snotty (aspiring actresses, probably). The drinks were too much money and really weak. I spent 35 dollars on drinks when I could've just had some free tap water. Same taste, same result.
Wednesday
Weds is a much better night for me. Much better. Only problem was the dancing couldn't commence because they were having amateur rap artists perform. HORRID. There were chairs on the dance floor until 12:30. I got there at 8pm. I was ready to dance at exactly 10pm which is when the music and dancing were SUPPOSED to start. I stuck around. But then the music (when it started) was mostly soul disco/house. Almost no modern Hip Hop or RnB. Disappointing. But still a whole heck of a lot better than Saturday.
