The month of March marks a season of new beginnings. Spring-training baseball. Warmer weather. And for fast food connoisseurs in and around Kearny and North Arlington, March means the reopening of Stewart's, a too-cool-to-be-real old-fashioned root beer stand with car-hop service. This fun '50s throwback once played host to a location shoot for 'The Sopranos' featuring Tony himself, and its orange-and-black burger headquarters sits just across the road from the Belleville Bridge. There's plenty of good root beer to be had, and with good root beer comes great root beer floats. People also flock to Stewart's for terrific burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and fries. Enjoy yours on one of the outdoor patio tables, or -- if there's a chill in the air -- just drive right up and take advantage of car-side service. You can imagine yourself time-warping back to the days before everyone started counting calories.

    I have been going there for over 40 years the food is great.
    sometimes the waiters good be more pleasant but over all I just love it I have taken my daughter and now my granddaughter ist time will be this spring

    i went there food was great and cream soda was extrodinary but i asked for an itaian hot dog and a hot dog w/kraut i got 2 italains wit kraut so b clear when ordering but enjoy!

    use to go there, recall the giant frosted glass of root bear, the fries were the best, no grease

    It is a great place to go to. The kids love it! The food is great for fast food. The only place I know of where a waiter come to your car to get your order. Everything we tried we were satisfied with.

    Their cheeseburgers and orange drink are pretty good. Great service.
