That old lady who used to ask "Where's The Beef?" has obviously never been to Arthur's. Whether you prefer your beef ground or in a massive slab, a meaty meal is always ready and affordable at the corner of Third and Washington. The burgers, fat and moist half-pounders, are the restaurant's mainstay, but that's more of a lunch thing. The dinner crowd drools with one whiff or gander of a 24-oz. ribeye (or a 48-oz. for you and the lady), both priced with shocking modesty. After all, owner Arthur McGreevy's motto isn't "We buy only the best and sell it at reasonable prices" for nothing. If you're eating a hunk of beef, or anything else Arthur's plates up, the gargantuan mugs of beer are almost a no-brainer. Just remember that Arthur's is famous for disallowing food substitutions. That baked potato will be a baked potato, come hell or high water.

Steaks aren't top notch at all...

Low quality meat w/ HEAVY fat content. They do however have a great burger. No way they should be voted the best steak. It's a travesty

Cayenne1954 - 07/10/2008If you really like fat with your meat your at the right place. Order what they call a Delmonico steak. What you get is a large piece of beef with more fat than meat and cooked just like you did not order. Order your meat rare and it is raw, ask for it any other way and it is well done. So if you like fat this is the place to go.

TAXES73 - 07/10/2008The Porterhouses are magnificent as are the filet mignon. the GARLIC SHRIMP ARE BEYOND COMPARE AND THE SPANISH "PATATAS" ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD. All the places you have listed, I have visited. Don Pepe's is the best.

Jacriscuolo - 07/10/2008Are you serious? This is a joint that serves you a slab of fat on a plate. Anyone that raves about a fly trap only likes the prices. They are very cheap because the meat is garbage. Try South City Prime in Litle Falls. Have some class.

But how in the name of God could anyone vote for Arthurs as the best Steakhouse in NJ!! LOL Has anyone, I mean Anyone ever had the PorterHouse for 2 at Frankie and Johnies, yea you'll pay but its like trying to compare eating Angelina Jolie to Whopie Goldberg!!
