I have to agree with dmlachn, the wait staff are incredibly arrogant, unfortunately the food is great, they should hire nicer staff.

Definetly the best steak if not one of the best meals in Northern NJ. The steak is perfect and between the bread and the seafood there is something for everyone.

I have to disagree with all the positive reviews of this restaurant.
While the food was OK the arrogance of the staff (management included) was unacceptable. I have been to the Edgewater location many times with family and recently met business associates there for dinner. One of the people in our very large party had an issue and asked to speak with the manager. I have never seen a person in the service industry be as cavalier and condescending as this man. He is an embarrassment. Needless to say, it does not matter if the food is good when you get treated like that. They will never get my money again!

I love all three Locations Fairlawn, Edgewater, and Mahwah. The Shell Steak is my favorite also the cold platter for two is amazing. Everyone who is writting comments on here about waiting when u have reservations odviously they dont go out of the house much its one of the top steak houses what do u expect. Have a drink and the bar and relax then sit down and enjoy the wonderful meal.

The River Palm Terrace now has three branches, though the original Edgewater restaurant is my favorite. There is no question that their steak is the absolute best in New Jersey. It is easily the equal of New York City's best. So for steak, at least, there's absolutely no reason to cross the Hudson. Moreover the menu has a wide selection of othere choices, all delectably prepared. Additionally, there is also a first-class wine list. At its highest end it has a number of top varietals that, while pricey, are reasonable (relatively...)
In short, this is absolutely the place for anyone looking for the best beef in a tony atmosphere with outstanding service

There is no better in the area. Compare it to Lugers but with nicer decor, waiters etc. This place is noisy "its supposed to be" Its a steak house ! Its where deals get done. Do you want others to hear you???

As far as the service I can't complain. Ask for Joel He is the BEST!
