The Lincoln Theatre's well-conceived layout can play host to about 600 music fans. The monthly schedule typically covers an expansive range of musical genres from top local and regional talents to a smattering of national acts. Any given performance can bring everything from traditional rock 'n' roll ensembles to bluegrass, punk and funk bands to the stage. The fact that the owners have been in the business for several decades speaks to their taste for talent. The multitiered floor plan allows for unobstructed views throughout this restored 1930s theater. The lobby is comfortably appointed for those in need of a more relaxed atmosphere. The bar serves wine and beer, including imports, microbrews and standard domestics. -- Charles Norwood

I agree with other opinions on the board. I have seen some of our local bands and they are great. Some are from Charlotte. Our city has the best local bands I have heard in the NC area. The next time you are in Charlotte, check out our local entertainment. I agree the Lincoln Theatre has some good bands to perform, but I have seen bands in our own area just as good. Well, that is my opinion, and not meant to be anything, but a compliment to Raleigh and Charlotte's talented artist.
Great Idea

I finally made it down to the Lincoln Theater the past weekend to check out Nathan Asher and The Infantry, which by the way, was an excellent show and a much needed experience for me. I am a former bartender of ZiggyÂs By The Sea, Atlantic Beach, which sadly is now closed forever due to political constraints on their local live music scene. So, I love a good live music venue more than most, and I felt that the Lincoln Theater lived up to my high expectations of a venue. The stage really captured my attention. The lighting was sharp; the black curtain backdrops kept the Âtheater feel incorporated in the ambiance, so that you get the feeling of actually seeing a show. I was able to comfortably move around throughout the evening, and all in all had a great time. I also registered to vote at the door last night!! A most excellent idea on everybodyÂs behalf! Thank you. I will be back with more friends.

Well I guess my suggesting another favorite Dave Cover band would be out of the question since the Dave Matthews Cover Band rules in this area.
Someday though in the very near future other bands will emerge, and hey they are from our area, what about that?Musicworldtwo's Review
"Would like to see a local DMB tribute band from Charlotte perform. I saw the Dave Matthews Cover Band and I have seen Two Step perform at Rira with my college buddies from ASU and frankly "Two Step" was the better of the two. Why don't we see more of our preferences here?
We have such talented bands in our own area, but keep getting the same bands. Give the other bands a chance to show what they can do. Just thought I would plug my favorite Dave Cover band.Housegirl06's Review
"The place is ok, but they have too many bands from other states when we have great bands here in NC. Raleigh, you need to take notice of the bands in your own area!!
