Solid Performance

Ok. This place did well, not the best, but good. It is not a Romantic place, but nice for drinks and casual dinner. First date or special occassion...No. Food is well prepared and tastes good. Wine list is reasonable and affordable. Really well laid out and solid service too. Menu leaves a bit to be desired..not enough true Italian dishes..its a bit heavy for that, but still good. Worth a trip for a nice evening out, but you might need a reservation and kids..well..if you are the parent..then bring them..if they run you...leave them at home.

This place was great. Although I’m not very sure why it was under the romantic section of this listing. When I went it was very bright and a few families with young kids. I will say the food and service was great and the atmosphere was very comfortable.

Our table was ready as soon as we walked in the door. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. The food was delicious and the atmosphere comfortable. This was our first visit to 518 West since moving to Raleigh, but it certainly won't be our last!

The restaurant is so good you feel as if you've gone out of town on vacation while your there. The atmosphere is great and the food is so very good. Everyone must try the cuisine, you'll love it.

Large choice of food, very good quality, the romantique atmosphere is very nice and the location is perfect. On top of that 518 is incredibly affordable.

Best Place to Eat and Be Seen

518 is called Italian but they have everything. The food is all made to order and the service is excellent. Also the prices are very reasonable. It can be pretty crowded on the weekends but the wait is worth it. This place is casual or dressy. It does not have a big TV but they will show games in the bar. It is a great place to take a date. Friendly service with a smile and a wink Prices range from $7 to $17.00. On average two people can have appetizers, dinners and a good glass of wine each for around $30, incl. tip. I eat out at least five times a week. For an incredible meal I will spend $60 two people. A bottle of fine wine and a roasted bird in cream sauce
