Southern california visitor to Charlotte, everyone told me to try some good BBQ. I asked around, and three people recommended this place, but NONE could remember the name. I found it, and it was amazing. I had the pork ribs & beef combo, with some of the brunswick stew, beans and fries.

Loved every bite. More than I could eat for dinner, for under $20. Very good service too.

If you want the absolute best real pit cooked BBQ this place is a must. I have tried BBQ joints in eastern NC, Western NC, Texas, Memphis, Kansas, Florida, SC, CA, and others and this place has the best! Family owned and operated for generations, the service and quality are consistantly superb. Try the chopped pork sandwhich with slaw, the bbq beans, the brunswick stew and sweet tea for a gut busting, A1 BBQ experience! See you there for lunch this afternoon!!!

King of BBQ

Quite simply the best BBQ in town. Rich and tangy, the western style bbq sauce is second to none. Chopped pork sandwiches served with so much BBQ that some can't help but fall off the bun. Brunswick stew is secret recipe and also best in town. A great value and good service, but the BBQ is what keeps me coming back for more. I think you'll agree the Old Hickory House is the King of BBQ.

been eating hear for many yrs and for the sweet rich tangy bbq sauce,it is the best. the meat is cooked in house on a pit of wood, you can see it from the dining area. the smell before you go inside lets you know it real pit cooked. great bbq beans, great stew,rich and peppery,and thick too.staff is very frendly and food is quick to appear. i always get, half and half pork, that is some chopped fine and some chunky,,beans and stew with a sweet ice tea or a dark beer.and prices are right. try it ,,can't be wrong with this Q.

Try the slowly smoked sliced pork shoulder.

Ask for some with a little fat on it. Tender & juciy!

Sauce is a little wierd & sweet, ask for it on the side!

Bar none, the absolute best in Charlotte. This family has been at it for quite some time and the one thing that has never changes is the fact that it's the best in town. Go anywhere else and you will be disappointed. The Beans here are just beautiful as is the Brunswick Stew - try 'em both along with a couple chopped sandwiches. Unbelievable!
