One of the Queen City's most unusual dining experiences, Melting Pot's all-fondue theme makes it a sexy date spot as well as a fun and even slightly hedonistic destination for groups. Begin with a cheese fondue, with bread, vegetables and apple slices for dipping. Then choose your cooking style for the entree: Coq au vin, Mojo, Court Bouillion or Bourguignonne. Dunk a bite of uncooked meat or veggies (the huge selection includes fish, shrimp, sausage, chicken, beef, filet mignon, mushrooms, pork, duck and lobster) into hot oil until cooked, and then dip it in your choice of sauce.

Desserts are also served fondue-style, with nine choices of chocolate fondue (including swirled white and dark chocolate, amaretto chocolate, and milk chocolate swirled with bailey's Irish Cream) into which salivating diners can dunk fruit, cheesecake, pound cake and brownies. Romantic and dimly lit, the sensual Melting Pot experience is fun for groups but simply perfect for romance.

  • Great For Romantic Dessert

    Review rating : 4out of 5   BlushingHawk - 11/30/2008

The Melting Pot is a great place to go after you've had a light dinner somewhere else. The entree leaves a little to be desired if your hungry. But it's great for the cheese, vegetables, and bread fondue if you just want to impress a date and spend lots of money. The dessert has got to be my favorite-great for sharing with a new love. The melting chocolate, dipping fruit, brownies and cheese cake can often lead to a very exciting evening after the Melting Pot. I would suggest taking home left over warm chocolate...it can make the night interesting.

  • Not worth it

    Review rating : 2out of 5   biodnarna - 04/14/2007

If you like you food boiled in cholesterol, dish water, or chocolate, you will love the melting pot. All Barnham and Bailey and not much in the way of really good food. The only decent part is the desserts. This is nothing but a gimmick restaurant.

  • TOO Expensive!!!!

. What a shame the way people waste money in this world the poor are getting
poorer, and the rich are getting richer. So many
people in this life live from week to week and can
hardly find the money to pay their monthly bills,
and then you hear about the stupidity of someone
wasting this type of money for a few friends. What
has gone wrong with our society that we would glamorize this type of behavior. Whomever is wasting
this type of money will have to answer one day to a
higher power, and the first question the higher power
will ask them is how well did you treat your brothers, and sisters here upon the earth. Meaning
everyone, not just a few selected friends. If you
have money to throw away like this try spending some
of it to accomplish some good in this life. We have
millions of homeless shelters which could use a hefty
donation from the likes of you. You could feed many
with what you are feeding only a few..........

  • Its was perfect !!!

Even though it was expensive ( we spent like $130.00), you get a lot of food. When it got to salad we was full, but we STILL had entree's and dessert. The mood was really romantic with the dim lights and jazz. With the forks you can be interactive with your mate feeding each other making it more romantic and sweet. A definite place to go for the ultimate date. Can't wait to go back again.

Very intimate setting, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. Cost $9 for a draft beer and vodka/cranbeery at the bar alone. Entree was over $70 for 2 people.

  • Fabulous...

  • Perfection

Yes, The Melting Pot is pricey, but worth every penny. The staff is knowledgeable, patient and treat the customer like royalty. Most of the entrees are cooked by the customer at the table or prepared at the table by the server, so you really can't go wrong unless you order something you don't like. The wine list is extensive and again, the staff is very knowledgable about the offerings offering suggestions and tastes of the suggestions before you order. Definitely a place for an intimate date or a very special occasion. Make sure to allow yourself time to savor the whole experience. You could easily spend 1.5-2 hours enjoying a "meal experience" at The Melting Pot (and will enjoy every second).
