Locals all have their favorite down-home-style spot, and Lupie's Cafe fans are legion. Ask folks what they like best at the place, and the answer isn't a dish -- it's a day, as in ''Thursday!'' Lupie's biggest sellers are served up as daily specials, just once each week. Folks drive from far and wide for ''their'' days, maybe savory meat loaf and mashers on Monday. To confirm what's on the menu, call ahead: Some things do change, even at Lupie's. What doesn't change much is the good-naturedly casual service, or the line of eager wannabe eaters. Black-and-white photographs provide simple decor surrounding chockablock tables. Think fast about a choice, and plan for mammoth portions with not a calorie spared. Can't decide? A veteran server votes for tender chicken and dumplings, or a chili-cheese dog if it's not dumpling day. Burger lovers say there is none bigger or better than Lupie's.

    The food is great, very generous portions, my favorite is the 3 layer nachos, the place has a look and feel all of its own, right down to the pictures of employees in black and white, way to go Lupie

    Lupies in Huntersville is great, glad it is here finally... we go weekly, always friendly service and great food.

    Burgers are great, so big you can hardly get them in y our mouth, but come on, chips with burgers, what happened to french fries. Please add those. Just not a burger without fries (even though they are bad for you) LOL

    Thursday's are my favorite. Best chicken & dumplins, mac & cheese around. Always large portions and always great.

    My Granddaughter had her first Mac & cheese at Lupie's many years ago. She loved it and ate the whole plate full. Her tummy was bigger than her head.

    We ate there last week. Food was horrible and service was worse. I prefer Tryon House Restaurant @ Woodlawn--Staff is friendly and the owner Paul is great.
