In 1991, Luisa Land decided to bring a little taste of her native Milan to Charlotte when she opened her namesake, Luisa's Brick Oven. The first pizzeria in the area to offer brick oven-style pizzas, the restaurant draws a steady stream of regulars, including families, couples and even soccer teams.
Noted for their thin, crusty pizza, Luisa's also offers a limited number of pasta dishes, salads and calzones. Try their signature pie, Luisa, made with fresh tomatoes, pesto, roasted garlic, ricotta cheese and whole milk mozzarella. And of course, there's always the standard pepperoni and sausage for the traditionalists. A popular hangout for families with children -- kids can even play with the pizza dough -- it's a welcome respite for harried parents. The casual, warm atmosphere makes this a great place for those evenings you just can't bear to cook.

Crap Shoot

Sometimes it's great, sometimes I wouldn't feed this trash to the hogs. Biggest problem is the absense of management and the lack of supervision of the oven. The idiots they got back there now have no idea how to get the air out of the dough and as a result you get lousy pizzas with toppings that consist mostly of giant air bubbles. Get somebody back there that knows what they are doing, on a cosistant basis, and this joint can rise back to the top of the charts. And another thing, when the place is crowded keep the pizza coming! There's nothing worse than a buffet where you get two pieces, wait 10 mins., get two more pieces, wait ten more mins., and on and on an on. There's potential here I grant them that but they need to show they give a damn first.
Add CommentBY FAR THE E THAT HAS GREAT BEST IN CHARLOTTE
AFTER BEING HERE FOR 5 YEARS I FINALLY FOUND A PLACE THAT HAS GREAT PIZZA!!!!!
still the best
when you walk in the door, especially when it is cold outside, the warmth and smell tell you that you are in the right place...the pizza (especially the spinach special with proscuitto added) still is the best in town........and if you need carryout, what better way than to put in your order, drop into the video store downstairs to rent a movie, pick up your pizza and settle in at home
