A good judge of any diner is the state of the glass dessert case in front. Is it pathetically empty, endlessly spinning a lone piece of deflated lemon meringue pie? Or is it like the case at Landmark Diner, brightly lighted and filled with mile-high concoctions like Black Forest cake and pineapple coconut cake? If it's the former, you may want to reconsider your choice.
Landmark Diner is a classic, a long-standing restaurant that caters to folks of every age and persuasion. At any given time you'll find elderly couples, high school kids and yuppies sharing space. The menu, like any good diner menu, is a lengthy affair, with more offerings than you could possibly try in your lifetime. You'll find french toast, omelets, burgers, salads, chicken Marsala, Brussels sprouts, turkey club, onion rings, lasagna... you get the idea. Portions are huge, so you might want to try sharing, so you can save room for some of that pineapple coconut cake. Prices are moderate.

lemons
not happy, at the end of my ok, meal I was charged a sur-charge for lemons that I used to put in my tea. without prior knowledge that it would be one for them. when a eatery charges for something that is as highly profiable as beverages, sur charges for lemons, what else is he cutting back on to stretch the dollar?

This place has a better hamburger steak than the now-closed Copal's.
Horrible

I cant beleive it. I came her one night around 2 am with some freinds. IT was horrible. THe placed looked nice. Thats all they had though. The food was disgusting. The owner or night manager was such an ass sorry for my language. The service was horrible. What i dont get is that there is a Restaurant next door that is so much better. Its way cheaper too. I think we payed for 3 people around 76 dollars and the next night went next door and only payed 50. I dont know what half of you people see in that place next door but its horrible.

Great Burgers & Much More

North Carolina law requires restaurants to cook burgers to 165 degrees unless they grind their own meat on premises. This place can cook burgers the way you like them, the way I like them medium to rare, so this relocated Yankee can enjoy a fine burger in the Queen City. Servers are wonderfully cooperative, friendly, and helpful. The menu reminds me of many of the really fun great Greek diners in meto NY and Philly, and the food can't be beat.
Nothing fancy, no pretensions, just pure honest good food. If you rate restaurants on being themselves this place deserves five stars because it far surpasses success in delivering a diner experience worth remembering. I'm going back and going and going and going.Busy after midnight

I've gone here to dine late at night plenty of times, 1 am or later. Tons of stuff on the menu. Desserts are awesome.
