Charlotte's beloved blues house once hosted an unexpected performance by none other than Eric Clapton -- the living legend played a show in town, decided he was still in the mood to jam, and showed up on the stage of the Double Door to play a set for a roomful of blues fans barely able to pick their jaws up off the floor. That's just the kind of joint this is. Look for an older clientele here, one more interested in the music than in the people-watching. In business for over 20 years, this smallish, intimate blues bar offers awesome acoustics and a house band that's arguably the best in the city: Les Moore and his Monday Nite All-Stars. If you're looking for national blues acts, quality local music or a bluesy-casual place for a cold brew after work, then walk through the double doors that have let in Eric Clapton, Koko Taylor and Buddy Guy.

    We go to Charlotte every year in July from PA and we never miss going to the DD on a Monday night. We have such a good time. Love that live music. The band is great. We will be there in two weeks to get to the DD. Can't wait.

    Small but excellent place to enjoy yourself hear some fine blues. All ages and all are welcome. If you are in Charlotte, stop by you will be welcome and enjoy your night out.

    Finally got back to the DD - the same bar flies were there from the 80s, only older. Was away far too long - it's good to get hooked up again. Howard & The White Boys were excellent - got my long overdue blues fix.

    The Double Door is a Great place to see live music in Charlotte. Anyone from any age group will enjoy! Not to mention they have the best bartenders and coldest beer in town!! 5 stars all the way! DOUBLE DOOR I LUV YOU!!

    Some of the area's best jazz is at the Double Door every Thursday night from 9-12 where Bill Hanna (Charlotte's Godfather of Jazz) and his band plays. If you like jazz, come check it out - you may even hear me play piano. Cover charge is only $5.

    The music is hot. The bands respond to the crowds and things really get tight. Good lookin babes of all ages. Friendly and happy crowds.
