When it's got to be authentic Eastern-style barbecue, Bubba's delivers the pig that way it's meant to be. This is whole hog, pit-cooked barbecue that's served with the classic tart vinegar-based sauce. The surroundings are just as classic. A large dining room with red checkered tablecloths downplays the atmosphere and emphasizes the food. During the week you'll find Bubba's packed with construction workers, seniors and business folks. Weekends cater to families, packing the tables that can be situated to accommodate large groups.

Come to Bubba's for the barbecue, but don't overlook the sides that make it a meal: Brunswick stew, coleslaw and hush puppies. Many sweet tea refills are required to wash it down. Sit back and enjoy your plate or order by the pound to take home and share. Catering is available as well, so you can throw the party while Bubba brings the pig.

Have been there many times; food has always been excellent. The real treat to the place is Bubba himself; when we have vistors in town we make it a point to go to Bubba's. Bubba is often seen moving around the crowd. Tell him your guest is from out of town and the man will do a 5 minute stand up routine that will have everyone laughing for hours.

Are you kidding! This isn't authentic eastern BBQ. I gave this place a second try, The Q sandwich for $3.95 was not to good, and they had the worst slaw ever to touch BBQ. Their Tea was good, and I did not try anything else. Will not return!

This is not true easter style BBQ. Food is pricy. For real lovers over eastern style BBQ try Garners in Raleigh, NC. I also found the ribs to be a bit tough and chewy. Maybe the head chef was off the day I went. The hush puppies are ok but what about real corn sticks. The slaw was ok but not the best I have ever had. The chicken was a little dryer than I like. OK, maybe my taste buds are hard to please but when a rest. is voted tops in the area and I have eaten better well then I need to say my peace.

This is the real deal! As good as barbecue can get! Moist, tender, flavorful. Great sauce, too. Not that you really need it, but if you like that extra "kick" (I do!), pour it on! The hushpuppies are the best I have ever had. I could eat dozens of them. Literally!!! The brunswick stew and beans are pretty good. I have had better, but they are not bad. Dine in or take out, I highly recommend Bubba's!!!
