Hidden from the street by potted plants and wooden screens, Pennie's is hard to read from the outside. Once indoors, you'll find exposed rafters crossing the ceiling and icicle lights hanging from above. The tablecloths are all different, but each could be straight out of a little country cafe. Pennie's offers the usual backyard cookout fare, such as baby back ribs, chicken, steak and pork. You can also find hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad and coleslaw. Non-barbecue items such as fried chicken and roast beef are also available. The full-service bar supplies beverages. Limited carryout is available on the weekends.

The atmosphere is OK, but the food is good and there is plenty of it on your plate.

Finger licking good
I felt like I was in BBQ heavin. Who wouldn't with the outlandish portions and exceptional service, Pennies is a dream come true for all you BBQ lovers. Just thinking of those Pork Steaks makes my mouth water!!!!
Good Pricing and Food
Well I got to say you get alot for your money here and the food is not bad at all. Plus its close to home so its a Triple threat
Good portions
I got to say hands down in the area around here this place has good pricing and great portions. Service is not all that great but i have seen worse in other close by restaurants. Im pretty sure they still use Mauls BBQ sauce which is a ST Louis tradition anyway. But for the price and portions great deal.
