Hidden from the street by potted plants and wooden screens, Pennie's is hard to read from the outside. Once indoors, you'll find exposed rafters crossing the ceiling and icicle lights hanging from above. The tablecloths are all different, but each could be straight out of a little country cafe. Pennie's offers the usual backyard cookout fare, such as baby back ribs, chicken, steak and pork. You can also find hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad and coleslaw. Non-barbecue items such as fried chicken and roast beef are also available. The full-service bar supplies beverages. Limited carryout is available on the weekends.

stl63125guy - 01/26/2005I got to say hands down in the area around here this place has good pricing and great portions. Service is not all that great but i have seen worse in other close by restaurants. Im pretty sure they still use Mauls BBQ sauce which is a ST Louis tradition anyway. But for the price and portions great deal.
