Tangy sauce that some swear is the best in town, unbelievably good fries, and ribs that fall off the bone -- just another KC barbecue joint, right? Well, yes and no. The truth is, Kansas Citians are spoiled by a wealth of great barbecue places. But LC's is special: It's an unpretentious, tiny little place where you're likely to have LC, the pitmaster himself, serve you dinner. LC's is considered by many to be the modern-day Arthur Bryant's, meaning that despite its current unassuming stature, it will be legendary some day. A few people complain about slow service and a not-so-clean dining area, but those are the same folks who aren't easily satisfied by tender, smoked turkey sandwiches served with spicy sauce and a side of meaty, smoky baked beans. They're the ones who are likely to overlook the merits of LC's kitchen-made sausage or smoked chicken halves. Skittish barbecue lovers should send envoys into LC's for takeout, lest they miss one of KC's best barbecue meals. One thing patrons can agree on is that the price is right. -- Anna Foote

I think LC's is by far and away the BEST bbq in the WORLD! I love their beef sandwhich and fries with some bbq beans. I've been getting take out from there since I was just a little kid on my way to the Royal's game and I still hit it up today! Season ticket holder all my life!!! I live in Stilwell which is south of Overland Park and I would drive even further to get some of this smokey goodness! They had one in Lenexa for a while and it was ok, but it just couldn't compeate with the original gangsta! Keep up the goof work LC!

LC's is about 4 blocks from my house and I can always smell the smoke when he's cooking. It's like a siren song. Also has the best BBQ beans in the word.

Great sauce lean meat L. C. is always friendly people are curteous. Since my friends and I found this place we make it a regular stop and somehow we never get home with everything we take out because we just can"t wait to taste it.

Not living in KC LC's is a place I have to stop everytime im back in town. My wife and I love the place. LC is super host and will sit and talk with you. He will difently become a BBQ Legand. As far as Im concerned LC's is the best BBQ in the country.

Not a glamorous place but some of the best BBQ

I new about this place and finally stopped by and found it off of I435. I went for the burnt ends only (the sides are extra but hey I wanted the meat). Unlike some other BBQ places, I was astounded when they filled the styrofoam box full with burnt ends. My wife and both agreed they were meaty, thick, and not burnt to crisp . They were very flavorful and had a good tang too it. Its out of the way (for me) but you can bet I will stop by again and try the turkey next time. The price is also very reasonable considering all you get!

Born and raised on "KC" Bar B Que LC's is one of the best. From the greasy windows to the smoked filled dining room it doesn't get any better then LC's This is how Bar B Que was meant to be served, and yes I have been served by the man himself. I live in Denver now but every time I come home LC's is a stop I have to make.
