Brookside is known for great restaurants, but Jalapenos stands alone when considering its service, style and Mexican cuisine. The no- nonsense attitude of the wait staff reminds you of a small diner -- one minute you order, the next minute you get your meal. A family-oriented atmosphere, along with hot plates of freshly made enchiladas and quesadillas keep the crowds coming, so on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared to wait at the bar, or shall we say Margaritaville.

Good Service Mediocre Food
Tamster569 - 07/10/2008There at lunch hour with 8 of my colleagues. Service was top notch, but the food... not so much. Some in our party liked theirs; but they always have liked this place. Why? I just don't see it. I lived in New Mexico for almost 20 years I guess that is why I may be more picky. My chicken flautas were tough (the meat) and practically tasteless.

If you are from Texas you will not like this. This restaurant is a midwest version of tex mex. Not edible!
Very child-friendly atmosphere
missbeckett - 04/27/2007We live near the Brookside location and go there one or two times a week. The service is incredible, the food is great, and everyone is incredibly patient with the inevitable mess our toddler makes. Be aware that early dinner means lots of kids!

chasey828 - 10/07/2004Jalapeno's in Stanley and on Brookside are the best mexican restaurants in town. The menu has a wonderful variety that is sure to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Their fajitas are the best. My friend that is from the southwest says they are just like her grandmothers. The staff is so friendly and your drink will never be less than half empty. I am a regular and have enjoyed the service and food for many years.

brt718 - 06/24/2004Brookside is not the only place there's a Jalapenos theres Stanley,and Lenexa,Kansas. Both places have excellent food.Menu prices are fair to average.

cherry66062 - 07/05/2003jalapenos is the best mexican I've ever had. I've been eating there at least 3 times a month ever since it opened back in 91. It may not be the most authentic, or the most spicy... but, it's still the best!
