These have to be the single most disgusting hamburgers I have ever eaten. They may go down easy enough after 12 beers and a couple joints....but come on. Awfully nasty.

I have been all over the country, and no one, I mean no one has a better burger than Hayes.

Come in on any day and sit at the counter and you are not only a patron but part of the staff. Help clear tables, hand out food and get a little bitt of advice from those behind the counter. Not only do they know the history of Hayes but most of them can tell you all about KC.

The burgers are small but full of flavor, served with grilled onions, and on a bun that has a bit of a sweet taste. Hayes Chili is also on a level all it's own. Full and I mean full of meat, the flavor of this hardy reciepe can not be beat.

If you truly wish to taste the best and see what Kansas City people are all about, put Hayes on your short list of places to visit in Kansas City.

My Boyfriend Loves This Place! He always tell me about how he used to go there all the time and @ the same time every time. The workers knew what he was comming in for and had it ready to serve & waiting for him to walk through those doors, sit down and there his favorite biscuits & gravy waiting just for him. Thats all he talks about. Almost like it was the good old days.
For his birthday when I asked him where he wanted to go, what do you know... Hayes Hamburger & Chilli it was... 8)

This place is the best! It is the only thing I miss about living north of the river! A perfect place to go after a late night out. They have the best burgers and the best biscuits and gravy around.

Don't Complain

Their food came highly recommended from a friend and some people that have been there. But don't complain about the size of their sandwich or the food ! ! ! If you do, you are about to meet extremely rude people. They may serve the best sandwichs in town until you find something wrong. I don't know how good the food is..... I paid for it and left it there, walking out after the verbal abuse....... I guess that was the first time anyone complained about the size of a sandwich.

I was supposed to know that they were small..... "before" I ordered.... oh well.....

We won't be going back !!

A friend told me they had real good burgers, I decided to give them a try, they were so good I went back the very next day and it is now going to be one of my weekly stops.

I love hayes, have been eating their along time too.
Recently went there saturday night, don't know if they changed their buns but we had regular size ones, like the old buns better couldn,t eat my second burger and they also need a waitress for the booths;)

This is the best place in town, period. i have ate there all my life. I use to work there as a teenager, and the Hayes family is the best.
