Legend has it that in 1206 the ruler of Mongolia was given the title Genghis Khan, meaning universal ruler. After you get a chance to sample Khan's spectacular Mongolian barbecue, you'll understand why that reputation is so fitting. Choose your own vegetables, meats, seafood and sauce, and the barbecue cook will prepare your fixings on the enormous grill. The menu states kindly that the barbecue is "all you care to eat," which really means eat as much as you can, but save room for dessert. If the novelty of the grill has worn off, there are also individually-prepared Chinese food choices. -- Laurel Koppelman

A wonderful place to go when you're reeeeally hungry since it's all-you-can-eat. Everyone can make their entree to their own taste. Nice staff, good, healthy food. Much better than BD's, it's great to be able to support a LOCAL restaurant. Good for the price, too.

GK is the BEST mongolian restaurant I've been to in the midwest. Unlike the disgusting BD's, it is not a CHAIN. It is extremely reasonable, esp for lunch. Aside from the choose your own veggies, meats, etc, they have the most delicious chicken wings (garlic and scallion), crab rangoons (I don't even like CR, but I will eat them from GK), and 2 soups - hot and sour, and egg drop. They also have fruit and petit fours. If you have not tried this place, you will have to go! Great for meatlovers, vegetarians, young and old. You will also have to try Blue Koi-- owned by the same people! Everything is authentic and yummy there too.

This restaurant is great for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. The variety is great, and it's resonsably priced. Strongly recommended...

  • My Favorite Place to Dine in KC!!

I love this place!! The only problem I have is finding someone to eat with, who wants to eat here as often as I do.

  • low budget BD's

This place is cheaper than BD's Mongolian but is smaller. They recently opened an extension in the Northland across from Wal-Mart. They copied a problem from their original location, having to slip past a pillar to get to the cooking area. BD's offers more for the money, but if you want to cut costs go to Genghis Khan
