Walk into the dimly lit and heavily decorated original Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbecue in Martin City (south of Kansas City), and you'll be immediately engulfed by the rich, savory smells of perfectly prepared barbecue. Everything is prepared with great attention to detail, and the atmosphere is friendly and family-like. Lest you forget where the meat comes from, there are plenty of ceramic pigs and cow heads covering the walls to remind you. The staff is incredibly accommodating -- feel free to ask for watever substitutions will make you happy, they don't mind at all. If you're not into traditional barbecue, they offer some delicious fish selections, like grilled salmon and red trout. Make sure you get a take-out menu as you leave, you'll want to eat here often.

    Since moving to KC 10 years ago, I've heard far too many times that Gates and Arthur Bryants is the best but they are a far cry in comparison to Jack Stack! This is the best barbeque around! The burnt ends are to die for and the beans, oh my goodness no one does beans like they do, you can make an entire meal alone of the beans! I've yet to have poor service, bad or cold food at any of the Fiorella's locations. Anyone who says they didn't enjoy their experience at Jack Stack is either terribly misrepresenting their true intentions or has a struggling rival business. If you are visiting and have heard that you must go to Gates, ignore what you hear. Gates is dry, overcooked, the sauce is yucky, they serve you deli meat and the staff is rude. Go to Fiorella's Jack Stack for a real Kansas City barbeque experience. You won't be disappointed.

    While visiting KC from Arizona had to try the local bbq establishments. Jacks Stack is the greatest bbq culinary experience. Tried the burnt ends, bbq pork ribs, bbq beef ribs, bbq chicken......each and everyone done to perfection. You can't order without trying the cheesy corn, cheesy baked potatoes and beens. Superb fare. Topped it off with an order of warm Carot Cake. I recommend the original sauce for sure. Previous night tried Gates. While good, no comparison with the food, service, and ambience. Next trip to KC, I will be back to see Jack!

    For a BBQ place it seems a bit "upscale," however there large menu is unifiormly excellent. A particular recommendation is: try the BBQ BEEF Ribs - it's prime rib with a handle.

    Wonderful atmosphere , service and of course Q .We are regulars and find nothing that can compare to this Q. The other items on that huge menue are equaly as good. About the only thing missing is some live music..

    Fiorella's is very good for BBQ, but if you want the same quality for half the price, go to Smoke House BBQ in Gladstone and in Zona Rosa. EXCELLENT!!!!

    Every trip to Kansas City has at least ONE visit to Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbeque. I pack an extra bag just to take home bottles of their sauce. Absolutely the BEST burnt ends on the planet. I've never had anything at this restaurant that wasn't fabulous. Wish they would open a place in St. Louis!!
