In Short
State of the art meat lockers house short loins of beef, which are naturally dried for 14 days, then hand-cut and grilled to perfection for a flavorful and tender steak. An assortment of chilled and grilled seafood, including blue point oysters and cold baby lobsters, along with classic sandwiches and salads, are available as well. House-made deserts are prepared for temptation. Just try to resist the flourless, chocolate espresso cake or the velvety white-chocolate mousse.

    The Very BEST Filet in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area is by far
    J.Alexander's in Overland Park. The Filet melts in your mouth!

    They went above and beyond to make our visit a romantic and memorable occasion.
    Our waitress, Maria, was very knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine list. She was extremely helpful in helping us make our choices., and the result could not have been better.

    As for price, I've been to more expensive places that were much more stuffy and not nearly as good.
    I would recommend The Capitol Grille to anyone, without hesitation.

    If there is a better upscale steakhouse in KC, i'd love to go there. Until I find one, The Capital does just fine - thank you. Yes, it's expensive. So???? If you want cheaper food, try the McDonald's across the street. Try dropping in and having lunch seated at the bar. You won't be disappoined.

    I would recommend this to anyone. The dry-aged steak is delicious. Capital is a little on the expensive side, but right for the occasion.

    This place has quickly lost its luster primarily for their well deserved reputation for padding the bill. Beware, they love to overcharge and charge for items that you do not order. It is part of the culture.

    Plus, the quality of meat is a couple of notches below Ruth's Chris.

    You can buy choice beef at Hy-Vee. Yes, they serve choice not Prime.........Ouch....Save your money....

    I have eaten at many of the Cap Grilles and they are always in sinc with the client. I have never had a bad meal. Most importantly, the staff remembers you and your name. Worth the money!
