It may sound like a new action series on Fox, but First Watch is really a national chain of restaurants that focus -- as the hours of this restaurant might indicate -- on breakfast and lunch. Like most national chain breakfast bistros, the interior look is low-key; leaving all responsibility to the food to attract customers. First Watch serves up the classics, from pancakes to Belgian waffles. However, the true signature dish of this place is the omelet, which comes in extraordinary varieties. ''The Works'' includes ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, cheese and tomatoes -- seemingly, the only major food group not represented is chocolate. The ''Bacado'' omelet features bacon and avocado, and there are several other omelet selections that display a similarly original sense of culinary composition. The heart-conscious need not fear; First Watch offers egg white-only items. For lunch, there are several different types of grilled chicken-breast sandwiches and a plethora of salads, including a pecan-Dijon mixture. Adding to the appeal of the place is the fact that nothing on the menu is over $7. -- HW

    A group of us meet there weekly and the wait staff knows us and our habits...and they give us (and everyone else) excellent service. The BEST!

    THE best place for Breakfast in St Louis. The Staff is fantastic and friendly. The food is great and that's all you need to know. Try the Siesta Key parfait and you're in for a treat. The Gravy Train is to die for. I'm working my way through the menu, just to try some of the more interesting items. Try First Watch, you won't be disappointed.

    Talk about bland food. This place has tons of old people eating at it. And we all know old people lost the taste for food do to old age. Also price is not good for the sizes.

    Loved everything except the breakfast potatoes with BURNT onions! Whats up with that?! I was told that's the way they make them!?
