One of the most popular greasy spoons in town, Mickey's is unusual because it's located inside an art-deco 1930s railroad car. The railroad car is fake, but the ambience and food have an authentic 20th-century-America vibe. The restaurant is famous for fluffy omelets and O'Brien potatoes along with Mulligan stew, hash browns and bean soup. Hop up on a stool at the counter or kick back and relax in one of the booths. The jukebox spins oldies while you check out the interesting band of regulars who congregate here.
In business since the late 1930s, this place attracts an eclectic crowd including college students, local business professionals, truckers and farmers. Open 24 hours, Mickey's offers the entire menu all day long, allowing you to order omelets and waffles at midnight and burgers and salads at the crack of dawn. While credit cards are accepted, you have to pay the tip in cash, so plan accordingly. -- Amie Leavitt

The Greatest Place To Gather on Saturday Mornings

Just over 20 years ago, a half dozen plus of us would gather each Saturday morning at Micky's for breakfast and great conversation. The `Big Eric Sandwich' was the greatest hamburger in town. The `Crazy Harold Sandwich' was also out of this world. Eric Matson was in charge and I hope he is still there. Those were the great old days and how I miss them. Crazy Harold

Boo
Fall 2007, myself and three friends decided to make a quick stop at mickeys before a show at a theater a few blocks away. The waitress was malicious and rude. i let her know that we needed to leave within a half an hour, i didnt know at the time that they had a quick service motto. we oredered a grilled cheese and 2 burgers.it took twenty five minutes. I was VERY disapointed, as were my fellow diners.
Great Food
These are by far the best burgers and pancakes I've had since I moved to the cities. Awesome atmosphere. Go there!
BIG BAD JOHN

GREAT PEOPLE WORK THERE, GREAT OMLETS ETC.I LEARNED HOW TO MAKE OMLETS FROM WATCHING . LOTS OF BUTTER AND GOOD ADD ONS. O'BRIANS ARE SECOND TO NONE. IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED THE EXPERENCE, DON'T WAIT. BY THE WAY IT'LL BE THERE FOR EVER. I BELIEVE IT'S ON THE HISTORIC ROLLS AND CAN'T BE REMOVED.

Mickey's Diner
Very good food! You cannot get it To Go, and it can get very crowded in there, so be prepared!
RJNN143's Review
I grew up going to Mickey's! We didn't live that nearby, but whenever family wanted to meat for a "good" breakfast or a cup of Joe, it was always at Mickey's. I live out of the country now but plan to visit when I'm back in the Cities again.
