Part of a local chain, Khans offers a great value: an all-you-can-eat dinner buffet for an attractively low price. Fill your bowl with raw meats, vegetables and noodles, then hand it over to the chefs. They will stir-fry everything with the seasoned oils of your choice. Return and repeat as needed.

Every night, the place is jammed with locals who appreciate the serve-yourself portions. Aside from the Asian format, Khans is a loud, rather characterless shopping-mall restaurant, with an institutional atmosphere reminiscent of a high school cafeteria. The wait for a table can be long, even during the week. At lunchtime, the price is lower, but you get only one trip to the buffet. -- Heather Rose Henderson

  • Yum....

We went to the Dinkytown location years ago, and now we go to the Richfield (494) location when we can afford to eat out! We love the food and the seasonings you choose yourself, and those gooey honey/sesame buns are to die for! They'll bring you more if you ask...and we do. Only complaint: it's a pretty greasy place - seems like everything has an oil slick on it, and I hate touching those tongs....

I love Khan's! The first time I went with a friend for her birthday party I was a little unsure but then I got there and it was sooooo good! My favorite part is the sugar, cinamon, and sesame seed desert you get!

  • Khans characterless?

    Review rating : 5out of 5   locorepair - 01/29/2004

Khans is a favorite spot for lunch. As for characterless, I disagree it's always full of characters. Watch them build their lunch in a fashion that would pale the IDS tower. One trip though the line is more than enough to satisfy yourself. Enough people have become regulars to open other locations around the metro. Please visit the **** Rapids or St.Paul locations. Leave the Bloomington location for me!

This is one of the best restaurants in town, I have to make a trip to the Twin Cities just to satisfy my craving for the food, you can make your own spices!!!!

Yummy! I love this place- not too expensive, buffet style, you can make as many trips to the stirfry as you want! Plus, if you tip the cooks, you get to hit a gong!

If you've been to another Mongolian Barbeque, skip this one. You cannot do your own seasoning, or add your own sauces. Service was lacking. They didn't know what to do with a vegetarian. I suggest BD's if there is one near you...you'll be much happier.
The honey bread was the only highlight in this otherwise lackluster meal.

Busy, choose-it-yourself. Fun but kind of yucky picking up raw meat with a tongs. If you tip the cooks you get to gong the gong! Honey bread is the best.
