Great steaks again and again

I travel a great deal of fine places and never do I eat a steak as well prepared and tastefull y served,my family and customers are always well pleased with the food and service .

Good steak and that was it

My wife and I have been to the best steak houses in Chicago. Murray's had a good steak, no question. However the salad that came with it was terrible. You'd get better at Perkins. The garlic toast looked (they were bad) like something from a cheap diner and the potatoes tasted like something out of a box. The $9 we paid for a SLICE of "fresh" raspberry pie was ridiculous. I'm sorry but after having eaten at the Chicago Chop House and Gibsons in Chicago (and we live in the Twin Cities) Murrays doesn't even come close. It's great that they cut your steak but the problem with that is it gets colder quicker.

i went to murrays expecting all of the excellent things i had heard about it the wallpaper was peeling the restroom was filthy and the steak was mediocre at best "funky" is the word i would use to describe this establishment time to clean the place up and stop resting on its laurels

Great Steaks! Bad Oysters!

Passed through Minneapolis on a pleasure trip and went to Murray's because a friend who lived in Minneapolis recommended it. I guess my expectations were too high. Steak was excellent and server was very friendly if a bit rough around the edges. We made the mistake of ordering oysters for our appetizer and they were the absolute worst oysters I have had in my life - they were actually decomposing! Unfortunately, the oysters spoiled the entire meal for me. I would, however, give it another try because the steak was so great!!

Peppercorn Perfection

I was at Murray's steakhouse for a business outing, we rented most of the restaurant out that night for broadcast professionals that were here for a seminar. The peppercorn steak was so delicious, I could taste an explosion of taste as it felt like the meat was melting in my mouth. I remember hearing about one of the Meteorologist from NE that this was the best steak he'd ever had. A guy from Omaha saying that?! This place is definitely steak done to perfection!

I have been to all the pretenders in town, Murrays is still the Champ. You don't need to use your butter knife they cut it for you table side, put a fork in it and enjoy. I see a previous posting talking about pork chops and lamb chops, order the steak stupid.

I was at Murray's last night and ordered the Stuffed Pork Chops. I was told a few minutes later that Murray's was out of Pork Chops. I then ordered the Lamb Chops. The waiter asked if I would like bake, mashed, etc, etc or vegetables. I requested veggies.
When my food came, I was horrified. The lamb chops was placed on top of bed of mashed potatoes and looked absoultely disgusting. As I tried to cut the chops, mashed potatoes pushed out from under the chops and smeared all over. This presentation was similar to a cheap diner. It was my first and is going to be my last time there. I rather go to Manny's.

The atmosphere was fantastic. By far the best place for a romantic dinner. Was there for our anniversary and can't wait to return. The food was superb, the wait staff commendable, and who can resist the strolling violin...

Murray's is a great upscale steak house. Perfectly aged steaks and a fab atmosphere. However with all tha downtown construction I'd say keep the extra $50 you'd spend and go to The Best Steak House on Penn
