There's a certain nostalgia behind Ike's Food and Cocktails -- a love and a longing for all that is utterly American and iconic. Looking at the moody Hollywood-esque bar, a soundtrack that spans Frank Sinatra to Cyndi Lauper, and booths and menus that seem to pop straight out of the 1930s and 1940s. In this supper clubby atmosphere, it seems entirely possible for Marilyn Monroe to walk in and order a Pink Squirrel. Yes, Ike's serves ice cream drinks -- and malts -- along with a menu of other cocktails, some of them classics. The food also runs the gamut from new to old. Portions are generous-particularly in the hefty blue plate specials. There's real turkey on the turkey sandwich, a good, old-fashioned shrimp cocktail and excellent burgers shaped by hand. For those with more modern tastes, there's a bevy of selections ranging from shrimp spring roles to seared scallops. -- Sarah Tieck

I LIKE IKE'S
I loved this place from day one. The owner opened and named this place after his late father, Ike. Food is great, fun people watching and a very cool decor. My parent's say it reminds them of the cocktail lounges of the 60's they used to go to. Does anyone remember Jimmy Heggs & Buster's?

More food than one person needs, yet the plate gets licked clean every time. Have not been disappointed after more than a dozen visits. The tuna sandwich is fabulous and the blue plate is always worth trying. The chili is pretty darn good, too. The bread service is a supper club favorite-lots of crackers, breadstix and a warm mini loaf of marble swirl. The wine list is slightly overpriced (as is all downtown wine lists these days), but you can usually find something drinkable. The service has always been warm and approachable while still being efficient and professional. Meals are followed with warm chocolate chip cookies, but the chocolate cake makes a really BIG impression!! It's nothing complicated, yet you will leave feeling spoiled rotten!
