Some pizza die-hards have a rule: Pizza comes in squares, not slices. Send it out otherwise, and you should go to jail. Available in squares since it was sold at one end of the tiny Broadway Bar in the early 1950s, this is pizza that made its mark and gained a following with pizza lovers and critics. The first actual parlor was put up a few blocks away at Broadway and West River Road, complete with a train car to emphasize the impact of railroads on that section of town. Now all the locations have a railroad theme, and all specialize in the original recipes created by Eddie Peck. For those who wouldn't have it any other way, thin crust is the big draw here. Folks who require a Broadway pizza on a regular basis may order the Extra Special and ask for it a bit "well done" to get that golden-brown look. The menus are a little different at some spots -- most Broadways list pastas, burgers and salads, while others stick to the basics: pizza and appetizers. The restaurants are very family-friendly, offering a kid's menu and an ideal setting for hungry youth sports teams or groups, although couples and groups of pals are also typical guests.

    This pizza is so good that a friend that has lived out of state for over 30 years asked that I send him several to get him through his chemo ups and downs. I never saw anyone happier than when I had them delivered to him in Ohio. Plus they still have a lot of the same employees making that great pizza from 20 or more years ago.

    I have been eating pizza at broadyway Bar and Pizza for 40 years. I have tried others , but threre is only one great pizza and thats Broadway Pizza.(try there ice cold tap root beer )...............

    Only a true pizza lover knows nobody comes close to satisfying one's taste buds as Broadway Pizza can. Simply the best!!

    I now live in Branson, Missouri and get back to the Twin Cities a couple of times each year. I ALWAYS have at least one Broadway Pizza each trip. River Road location only. Always have it "crispy". A Broadway Pizza in Branson (have limited pizza here, and none of it comes close) would do extreemly well.

    I started eating Broadway Pizza at the original location on West Broadway and was absolutely "hooked." I moved to North Carolina 16 years ago a truly miss the great taste of a Broadway Pizza. I get back to Minneapolis once a year and always make Broadway Pizza a must visit.
