If you're in the mood for a burger and you feel like having one in a joint that's casual to the point of seediness, this neighborhood hangout is right up your alley. The 58 Club is much beloved by local residents. It's an unpretentious bar and grill serving burgers, sandwiches and ribs. One of the specialties is the "Juicy Lucy," a double cheeseburger with the cheese layer sealed inside the patties. Be careful when you bite into one of these -- they're full of scorching hot juices that tend to squirt all over the place. The taste, however, is well worth the risk.

The clientele at 58 is mostly blue-collar folks looking to relax and have a good time in a convivial setting. On weekends there's usually a wait for a table, so be sure to get there early. In the warm weather, join the crowd kicking back with beers on the outdoor patio.

    This place is horrible! The service is the worst! They can't handle their job at all! The burgers are nothing special either! We would way rather go to Matt's down the street! We were there with a few other couples and we all agreed that we would never go back there again!

    I must sadly agree that 5-8 Club has changed (for the worse). We were looking forward to coming back for "the best burger ever"! However we were sadly disappointed. And yes, the service was poor.

    The food was fair, nothing special. The chili was poor, the burgers bland, and the service just o.k.. Typical greasy spoon.

    Please don't listen to people who give this place a bad review they must be missing their taste buds. The Juicy Lucy is the greatest burger in the world try it

    Terrible - Not at all what it used to be. Crappy service - Bad food - Waste of time. Go to Mcdonalds - you will get better service and food without having to waste a hour or two of your time.

    I used to live on 58th street and my family and i would get food from there about 4 times a month. That was back around '92 or '93. It was a happening place, with baseball players hangin out there on nights, great service and wonderful food. Then they remodled the place and it hasn't been the same. It is like a perkins when you walk in there. The atmosphere is so stale and boring. The service is always slow and food is mediocre. Have only been back two times in the last 10 years.I miss the old 5-8 club. Sorry to see it going down hill. Justin from south minneapolis

    WOW, sevice is awful!!! Food was so greasy and the juicy lucy I think had cheeze wiz crap in it! I was there about 5 months ago and will not go back despite the good coupons. Used to go there more often about 8-12 years ago, it was better then. I had to place the fries in a napkin to take of all the greese and they were soggy, yuck. It took way to long to get the bad food and it ended up being expensive in the long run. Maybe someone else will have better luck!

    why is the 58 restraunt in St Paul never mentioned? We enjoy it ofen...you people in Mpls, should cross the river, we have great service at the 58 on our side of the world

    I am partial to the 58. The 58 "Club" was a frequent hangout for me since the late 40s and 50s. The burgers were good then and I suspect they are much better now
    The last time I had a Juicy Lucy was back in the 70s and it was excellent-much better than Matts.
