For some reason, people have been flocking to Tonic on Thursdays to get things going, which seems to be fine for everyone involved. A lot of clubs fall into a formulaic trap, but Tonic manages to bypass a lot of that nonsense with a vibe and decor that really led the way for a lot of other dance-heavy night spots to follow suit. With three levels, there's plenty of room to find what you want in the form of drink and dance. The lower lever has a low-slung ceiling and a cavernous feel, with assorted furniture for kicking back. The main floor sports a huge dance area, with a lounge area toward the rear. Though this space once housed Velvet, the "Swingers"-inspired home to lounge lizards everywhere, the owners shifted gears in 2000 and really nailed the upscale dance club market. With a slate of house and techno, the crowd is generally a pretty good mix of mid-'20s to mid-'30s who are low on pretention, but big on style. Tonic presents a perfect balance. You can get in the door even without a fresh manicure and $400 shoes (and that's just for the dudes!). However there are also no packs of meatheads in Reeboks, either. Have something dry-cleaned, shine your shoes, get spiffy and have some mature club fun to the mad beats.

Too much flash, not enough dash!
Midnitevoice07 - 09/24/2008Tonic has the most amazing attractive security staff, competent bartenders never had an bad drink there in its life. The dj's should play more reggaeton and salsa music for those of us who aren't necessarily into the ghetto grind music. But all in all , they gotta keep the teenie boopers happy. The owner is biased, and when you own a club you should be polite to all of its dwellers. no matter what they look like, how they are dressed, and what color they are. But inspite of him, you can have a half way decent time there. You mostly go there to see the bouncers and wait staff anyway. LOL Have a Happy

PleaseHireMe810 - 07/04/2008I LOVE THIS CLUB AND I HAVE SINCE THE VERY FIRST TIME I STEPPED THRU THE DOORS. THE MUSIC IS LIVE & THE PARTY SEEMS TO NEVER END WITH THE THREE FLOORS. &FOR SOME REASON I ALWAYS END UP IN V.I.P;;; I ALSO LOVE THE STAGE THAT I TURN INTO A RUNWAY ON THE MAIN FLOOR.

And a few of the bartending staff members are not very friendly and have a tendency to ignore people when they have small orders ..... The manager is the rudist of all , you have to be skinny and look like you have lots of money or he will treat you like trash ..... Other then that its the great bounceing staff and 955 that make Tonic HOT

joempimpin - 01/15/2006There's something for everyone at Tonic. Upstairs you'll hear your "back in the day" tunes, even ones you haven't heard in years!! Downstairs you'll hear all your hip -hop and a little techno. All songs lead to dancing....guaranteed fun time

I LOVE GOING TO TONIC TO DANCE AND TO HANG WITH FRIENDS. THE CROWD IS ALWAYS LIVE, AND THE GUYS ARE ALWAYS HOT.

globalreman - 06/18/2004This place is awesome! Great dance floor and sound system. Love the couch area. Top floor was a great place to dance and talk too! Had a blast upstairs, didnt even make it to the lower level, maybe next week. This place ROCKS!
