No, this is not an '80s nostalgia-laden joint decorated with posters of Emilio Estevez and Molly Ringwald (don't pretend you don't remember that film). Thank goodness! Instead you'll find a diner so magnificently quaint that you might think you've mistakenly wandered into a bed and breakfast. Painted a soothing shade of yellow, this sometimes too-close-for-comfort joint more than makes up for the elbow room deficiency with fresh flowers on each table. You haven't had French toast until you've tried the specialty here: It's about five inches high and is prepared much like bread pudding. Brioche, croissants, Texas toast and homemade cinnamon rolls come stacked and soaked in a vanilla-egg batter. Fresh berries and a streusel top it off, and will probably start you dreaming about it. There are plenty of breakfast standards on the menu, but some terrific surprises, too. For instance, instead of oatmeal you'll find Scottish porridge with vanilla-soaked raisins. The diverse crowd -- ranging from purple-haired punks to blue-haired seniors -- adds to the charm. As with any popular breakfast spot, expect wait if you arrive after 9AM.

The omlets are devine, and the Frenh Toast is made with fresh baked bread smoothered with strawberries, blueberries, and several other berries--and it is to die for. They top it off with chocolate dipped strawberries--a real treat!!

While not as well known or postioned as the Original Pancake house in Birmingham this little gem serves better food because their menu combinations took some originality and thought. The taste is great and the price is right.....and their lunches are just as good!

  • Not the only location

Try another location in Farmington Hills. My favorite part is when the bill is brought to the table with enough chocolate dipped strawberries for everyone! To die and go to heaven for.

We go here when we want a special breakfast. The tables are a little small and crowded, and its not a cheap breakfast place, (around $25.00 includes tip for two), but the food is GREAT. Very Unique. My favorite includes Crab and asparagus. Wonderful omlettes and quiche, great french toast, and of course the chocolate covered strawberry with your tab is the Best reason of all to try it. If your looking for something different and tasty then go to the Breakfast Club.

I'm surprised to see a lack of reviews here. Been visiting the Breakfast Club since its original (crowded) location on Main St. Not sure why they moved because the new one isn't much bigger. The important stuff: absolutely awesome menu - very unique, consistent quality food, friendly staff, and love the chocolate covered strawberry served with the check. The huge portion of baked french toast is the best! So is their mushroom omelette! Never found a hair in my food and probably wouldn't mention it if I did - happens sometimes, has nothing to do with the selection or quality. Awesome place! TRY IT !! Smiles...Melissa
