Just a stone's throw from Cobo sits this narrow diner, which offers a view of the hubbub along Jefferson Avenue and breakfast all day. Sit at the counter or slide into a booth and order items like a fried egg and ham sandwich, a farmer's omelet or biscuits and gravy. The restaurant's breakfast special is artery-clogging good: two eggs, potatoes or grits, choice of ham, bacon or sausage and three dollar-size pancakes. There's plenty of fare for the lunch crowd as well, like collard greens and cornbread, pot roast and fried chicken, and the staff is friendly.

As a breakfast food afficionado, I say without reservation that The Clique is among the best diners in the city. The grits are surprisingly flavorful and the corned beef hash omlette is to die for. Bring a big appetite- this is no effette breakfast dining. Still, there's no better hangover cure in the city.

I love The Clique. I have been going here since I was a kid and went again after a long time and the food is still delicious. It can be very crowded espcially on the weekend, so go either very ealry or after 12 pm and it is not too bad.
