Upscale and lounge-y with a very small dance floor, this downtown Birmingham drink spot opened April 1, 2003. Lots of cool cocktail options here, with martinis served up strong and in over-sized glasses. Cosmos, apple martinis and the Ultimate Manhattan (made with Jack Daniels' single-barrel bourbon) seem to get a lot of requests. Busy and popular, it's pretty common to see lines extending from the door on Wednesday and Thursday nights. A lot of after-work patrons, many of them in their mid- to late-30s, crowd this bar that is located right next to the Palladium Theater. Designed after the Blue Martini in Palm Beach, the inside is often busy and crowded, but it's packed with people doing nothing but relaxing. A live band plays Wednesday through Sunday nights, with a DJ taking over before midnight, spinning some lounge and transitional R&B until closing. The Tangotini -- Grey Goose orangine with tangerine liqueur -- will most assuredly take any edge off. Cigars are also available onsite.

To all of you that are sick of just ANYONE getting into your upscale bars we have the place for you. The ghighly anticipated CENTOR will be opening it's doors very shortly, hopefully by the ALL-STAR game. It sits in the theatre discrict and boasts three floors of amaing murals and eccentric modern tastes from the art to the lighting fixtures. This upscale hot spot will have a dress code as well as quality martinis of every sort. Appetizers will be served everyday till 2 am. Keep your eyes open. Located across the street from THe Town Pump Tavern!
WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE?
The Blue Martini used to be my place until all these nasty people started going there. Im not talking about the diverse ethnic crowd either. mainly im speaking of the trashy chics/men from warren or sterling heights coming in there with sketchers on and mall bangs thinking they can get a man with money. i used to enjoy going there once a week when it was mainly the 20 to 30 something local professional crowd. now it seems like that place is filled with wannabe's that dont fit in or belong! these people have no buisness in the blue martini.they are the one's that are rude and have no social graces what so ever. management needs to do something about that ,but dont start charging a ridiculous cover we are in birmingham not new york. just start deniying people that look like garbage.
No thanks
Been there several times. Just keeps getting worse. I dont mind the prices, but the bartenders and bouncers can loose the attiudes. No need for this place. Pplenty of nice watrering holes withion walking distance

This is a very nice bar. Kinda like some of the upscale places in Chicago, NY, LA, etc. Pricy by Detroit standards, but not anywhere else. Not weekly destenation, but occationally is great! Service was slow but friendly.
HORRIBLE!

I've been to the Blue Martini a few times and hated every minute of everytime I was there. A waitress never once came to my table, I had to go to the bar for my drinks, wait in line for 15-20 minutes only to find myself paying way too much money for a lousy drink! I will not go back to that place!
