Cancun Cantina tries to corner two markets in one building. One side is a little bit of country and the other a little bit of rock 'n' roll. This dance club lives by the motto painted on the wall: "Kick-Ass Country." Urban cowboys and cowgirls alike head to this line- dancing, Garth-Brooks-loving corner of the woods. On Saturday nights, Cancun Cantina opens up a wide dance floor for hot-stepping, line dancing more complicated than the Electric Slide. Dress? Fringe, jeans, hats, boots and the occasional handkerchief. If you're a watcher instead of a dancer, pull up to the wooden barrels circling the floor and grab a beer from the Daisy-Duke-clad waitresses. The live band on Saturday nights will have you doing an air fiddle instead of an air guitar. Don't miss the "Best Body" contest on Friday nights.

The more traditional club on the other side is a deck (covered in the winter). The concrete floors can make it tough on your twinkle toes. A DJ spins music for the techno/hip-hop crowd. Don't be surprised when you see some crossover dancers from the line-dancing side of the bar. Every attempt is made to take you to Margaritaville -- right down to the Hooters-like tropical tank tops the beer-bin women wear. Flashing lights, a fog machine and a talkative DJ are standard fare. One great thing about the deck is the abundance of televisions if you want to hit the bar during the day to catch a sporting event. Get to the club early -- parking is free but far from abundant. Overall, the dress code is surprisingly strict so spiffy yourself up a bit before hitting the club -- tuck in those shirts and no athletic wear.

  • Has gone to the DOGS!!!

When Tony had more of a hand in this place, it was considered a decent establishment. Since hiring Roy as his manager the place has gone to the dogs. I have seen first hand the drugs that run through this place and Roy joins in every chance he gets. If you want to keep your job as one of his dancers, you better make sure you are willing to sleep with him or he will find a poor excuse to let you go. This place definitely needs a complete overhaul starting with Roy and Stacey. The numbers speak for themselves. Cancun Cantina went from class straight to ass!!!!

  • Its better than most

    Review rating : 4out of 5   VengefulAmbition - 06/06/2008

The atmosphere is pretty good, and the patrons are pretty laid back and chill on the country side. I try not to venture to the Top 40 side too often, as I am tired of guys not asking permission to touch me (if that makes sense at all.) The only complaint I have besides too touchy feely guys (you'll get that at any club tho) are the girls dressed in bathing suits and barely anything else, and the country DJ who likes breasts. We know, okay? You don't have to remind us every time "God Bless Texas" comes on. :(

  • Latin Night on Most Sundays

    Review rating : 4out of 5   mrammoody - 11/26/2007

Cancun Cantina also has a great Latin Night on Sundays. The dance floor is perfect and the music rotation includes Salsa, Merenge, Cumbia, Bachata, Punto, and Raggaeton. On special Sundays when Monday is a federal holiday, they usually have live bands. Parking is great and the club is very safe. Some of the same dress codes apply and IDs are strictly checked.

  • My second home

    Review rating : 5out of 5   mdtwisters - 03/10/2007

This wonderful club that Tony opened for us 14 years ago is my second home. I have been a loyal patron for 4 years and have become a 'regular'. No other place can one go and get the best of multiple types of clubs in one. Cantina has survived a fire that devastated the loyal customer base, but when it was reopened, it was well worth the wait we had to endure for 2 months. GOD was that a LONG 2 months. Cantina offers live country bands on one side that provides some of the best dancers around a place to show their stuff off. The deck side gives us the best top 40, Rock and Roll, and progressive music live bands on Fridays. In the warm months, the walls roll up for us to take our shoes off and rest our feet in the sand. Beach chairs, real palm trees, pit beef cooking, outside tiki bars....who needs OC? On the weekends during the day, we get to enjoy the best bike shows around. Never run out of reasons to go to Cantina. You'll meet some of the best people around too. GO! You'll have a blast.

  • oh what a dump we have

    Review rating : 1out of 5   flyavater - 03/02/2007

Oh well, lets not forget about the other owners involved...The Uptight Silcone princess that owns most of the establishments with him...She is really a prize snob. (Jen)..Look at the girls she hires to work in these places. they all must come from the same lower class that she comes from..If she would hire some people with a lil class she might get a nicer crowd..Look at the one girl Amie @ Malibus shes a classic hoe if I ever saw one she is an Anna Nichole Smith waiting to happen or a rape case. Most of the girls they hire I think come off of Patapsco Ave
