Whether going for lunch, dinner or happy hour, the mood is always festive at Rio Grande Cafe. This is a national chain that dishes up Mexican entrees the way you expect: big plates, big portions and big flavor. Don't hesitate ordering side dishes as entrees. A side of chiles rellenos is as large as a full lunch portion elsewhere. The fajitas come with grilled steak, chicken or seafood and are loaded with enough guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, cheese and sauce to leave you pleasantly stuffed. Whether you choose a fiery tamale or one of the sauce-smothered enchiladas, you'll enjoy the classic Tex-Mex flavoring rich in cumin and cilantro.

In addition to an expansive opened-space dining room, Rio Grande Cafe has a large counter bar and cocktail tables -- perfect for an after-work, large-size margarita. The cafe is a great place to go for lunch or dinner with a group from the office to celebrate birthdays, promotions or merely the arrival of Friday. This is one spot that can handle even the largest last-minute group with ease. -- Robbin Zeff

  • not real or good Tex-Mex

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who knows real Tex-Mex...which is what they serve, not Mexican. The salsa and queso is watered down. The costly fajita meat was chewy and we use pickled jalapeno slices not thick, raw slices. Limited use of refried beans made me think I was eating a grilled cheese tortilla chip with a slab of chewy beef instead of a nacho. Cut the beef into bite size pieces if you are going to use low quality without a marinade. If you want to eat Tex-Mex at a chain, try Chuy's or Serranos...if you can find one up here. There are a lot of good restaurants in this area but this is definitely not one of them.

Specials are great. Salsa is the best in town. Very loud & busy after 6:00pm. Great food for your money, Good value. I eat out about 3 times a week. Will spend money if the food is scrumptious! about 100.00
