Ray Lewis gyrates, shimmies and shakes in ritualistic pregame introductory dance, delivers bone-crunching hits on opposing backs and receivers and makes a mean plate of barbecue, too. OK, so the Baltimore Ravens' perennial Pro Bowl middle linebacker merely lends his name to Ray Lewis' Full-Moon Bar-B-Cue, but the smoky aroma of down-home cooking emanating from the Can Company in Canton is a sign that Lewis knows a good opportunity when he smells it.

Quality meats, slow-cooked Alabama-style over a hickory-wood pit, give diners plenty of affordable grub to tackle. Healthy salads seem conspicuously out of place, and appetizers such as onion rings, buffalo wings, chili and riblets are tempting appetizers, perfect appetite-whetters for hefty main courses. Barbecued pork is piled high, seasoned brisket is sliced and served with tangy sauce, chicken is seasoned to perfection, and turkey is thin-cut and generously heaped (all come with chow-chow, a Southern-style mustard-based relish). Two-meat combos, a chicken-and-rib platter and a half-rack of slow-cooked ribs are also available, as are sandwiches, burgers, clubs, a catfish po'boy and an array of baked potatoes. Lewis is the star -- from the door handles representing his uniform No. 52, to action photos aplenty to front-counter merchandise. -- Pete Kerzel

The prices were good. The food at Full Moon Barbeque was great but what was spectacular was the environment. A Ravens Fan Fantasy (I imagine a hotspot before, during and after the game)!!!!! Pictures everywhere of Ray Lewis, (my fav was the Ray Lewis Dance). It was so remarkable we had to take pictures. Every booth had a flatscreen tv that you could control yourself. I went with my family and we watched Shrek 2 while we ate. Everything was new and crisp. Even the new wooden highchairs were beautiful. The staff was dressed in purple and black. We were so comfortable here. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. GO RAVENS!!!!!

I took my husband to Ray's on his birthday onJune 25, 2005. We loved the atmosphere. I thought the TV’s was a great touch to add to the place, sometime you can run out of conversations and at least you can look at TV instead of looking into space or staring at your neighbors. We ordered salad and the combo dinner of ribs and chicken. The side orders was cole slaw, corn on the cob and potato salad all were excellent and quite filling. For the price they gave you a large portions of food. I had enough for lunch the next day.
I only have one suggestion, Where's the COLLARD GREENS to go with those ribs? Didn't have room for dessert all the reason to return.

  • Great!

Every restaurant I have been to has room to improve, there is always going to be something you don't like and things they don't serve which shuold be but with that in mind I really enjoy Ray's. I never had to wait in line to be seated there (although not saying they are never crowded) and the service was wonderful. Me and my husband have been 3 times and just enjoy it. The nachos are so large that it could serve as an entire meal for two and it is just an appetizer! Of course there is room for improvement and more added to the menu but as it is I like it and for living near it, I can tell alot of others do to, It is always hoppin'!

  • Just OK :(

I had heard so much about it and was eager to try for myself. I did and it was just ok. BBQ is simply OK. It's not real down home liek the BBQ I've had in Texas or North Carolina. Potato salad is bad. But the beans are good and rather tasty. And the desserts are very good. Will I go again? Maybe after the management reads some of these reviews that may help them improve.

Being a true southern barbeque lover, I was eagerly anticipating Ray Lewis' barbeque. Sadly, I think canned barbeque is better. The beans improved after we added honey mustard and ketchup to get some flavor. Down south you have a variety of sauces on the table, none here. The ranch dressing was so blah, I couldn't eat the salad. We were the only customers in the section but the service was lousy. That would have been okay had the food been tasty. What a disappointment!

I will be visiting Ray Lewis restuarant on the advice of my friend Val. She gave it high views.I will be going for my 20th anniversary. Even if its not good, I will return again. Why? Because with any new restuarant, you have to give it a chance. If you have any problems, let the manager know. We give my views later, peace.

The place has potential and could use some help in the kitchen. I had chicken and ribs and a cold beer. Service, food, price and decor (high ceiling) are all good, but could be better.

  • I COULD OF DID A BETTER JOB

Mr girlfriends and I visited the restuarant and i must say the atmosphere was nicw, i did enjoy the decor of the place but the food was terrible, I order the babyback ribs which could of been cooked a little longer and seasoned better, my girlfriends had ordered thr ribs which were tough and undercooked, not much up to my expectations. the drinks were waterdown and if I order a frozen drink i expect it to be frozen. I must say we won't be returning their, iI could open up my own rib joint and put his to shame.
