Expensive & Burned

Having breakfast last weekend, the service was terrible, food was over priced and burnt. If it were 2am and i was starving, i would rather eat at 7-11.

I just ate breakfast there. Sat 11 am. I ordered a simple breakfast, 2 eggs, bacon, homefries, small oj and coffee. Eggs were fried so hard you couldn't cut them, toast was cold and hard, service bad, and all for just $13.78 plus tip. This is twice I've been her ---the first and last!!!!!!!

You spoke exactly as I would in every last detail. I too have eaten there a hundred times, living in the neighborhood makes it easy. I leave there with the same question, "why do i come back here constantly" and i arrive at the same conclusion. I will confirm to anyone that is unfamiliar with the papermoon that although it is a very interesting place, it is NOT cheap and in a greater sense of the word the quality of food isn't so great to call for such prices. The last thing I would like to say is to the AOL staff you writes the original review, or, whoever it may be, this diner is NO LONGER 24 HOURS! You can go to their website to confirm papermoondiner24.com. Note the 24 in the address, I think it's hilarious they decided to change the hours and more over I think it was the worst thing they could have done. I have not been in there since and I will not be planning on making any visits in the future.

cheap eats...are you kidding?

I ate at the moon a hundred times when I lived in mob city. The food id interesting, but very inconsistent. That goes to the high turnover of the staff. Most of the short order guys were transient or rug addicts looking for quick funds. The wait staff were poor college kids, with little patients for the drunk mobs that come in every wekend. The prices were definitly not cheap. I always seemed to walk out of there saying "why do I keep coming back here" The reason is simple, the decor, and the great people watching. That and the fact that it is always open helps. There are no other all night diners in that part of town, just south of the Johns Hopkins campus and just north of the charles St. bar scene. So chalk up the moon's sucsess to great decor, unlimited access, and lack of options. But, do not say it is the "cheap eats"

Quirky but worth it

It takes a couple of trips to get used to the Paper Moon Diner. On the first trip, you're busy staring at the walls and getting used to the unusual service. The second trip gives you a chance to pay more attention to what's on your plate. I always stick with excellent diner food--eggs, grilled sandwiches and the like. The few times I've strayed, I've found that the 'regular' food is just okay. They serve great coffee and desserts. It deserves it's place as a Baltimore classic. Don't expect it to be anything more than a top-notch diner, and you'll be satisfied.

i recently moved to florida...papermoon was my fav place in the city....the servers are ok...the food is just...pancakes are the best thing...the reason we all go there is to sit for hours enjoy the decor.

Way too much going on here. The food is bland, but still edible. I guess people are drawn to the funky decor. I don't know if it's eclectic or demonic...not sure that they do either. Great for artistic value, but the food isn't worth the trip.

ive eaten here a hundred times. the food is really not good, and the service isnt great either, but the place is definitely fun. the point of the restaurant is more of a visual goal. seriously, come here knowing it wont be a great eat, but expect to be amazed with the decorations and crazy crap goin on in there.
