Morton's The Steakhouse, the nation's premier steakhouse group, specializes in classic, hearty fare, serving generous portions of USDA prime aged beef, as well as fresh fish, lobster and chicken entrees. Morton's is famous for its animated signature tableside menu presentation: steaks, whole Maine lobsters and other main course selections, along with fresh vegetables, are presented on a cart rolled to your table, where the server displays and describes each menu item in appetizing and entertaining detail. The menu, which is the same at all locations, features a variety of favorite cuts, including a 24 ounce porterhouse, which is the house specialty; a 20 ounce New York sirloin and a 14 ounce double cut filet. Every Friday and Saturday nights, enjoy our famous slow roasted Prime Rib. Morton's Prime Rib is a double cut, served bone-in and roasted to a perfect medium rare. Due to limited availability of this item, we suggest you reserve your order when making your reservation.

  • outrageous prices

haven't they heard there is a recession? The food was very good, but there is no menu..that we ere shown...and the server, while explaining the steaks, never mentioned the price of each. Dumb me, didn't ask. What a shock when the bill came and among other outrageous charges, my DelMonico was 50 bucks! Dinner for two with two beers and two glasses of average wine and valet (9) was $200. I've never felt so ripped off. Live and learn. Learn that unless you hate money, don't go to Morton's

Service was inadaquete. Food was marginal. Considering the price, I felt like an idiot for not sending the entrees back, complaining to the management and rolling out of there. Probably to go to Ruth Chris for a decent meal. I'd go to Outback and pay Morton's prices just not to go to Mortons again.

  • Excellent!!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   chuckcb66 - 02/20/2007

After reading a few of these reviews seems like I was at totally different restaurant. The service I had was perfect, the food was perfect. Steak was cooked to absolute perfection!! I had zero problems and would recommend Morton's without hesitation. There is no way Outback Steakhouse should be out ranking Morton's. That's comical.

  • Could have been the chef

    Review rating : 2out of 5   kaawings - 02/20/2007

My filet (ordered medium rare) came out and looked great--then i took a bit and it tasted like charcol. I flipped over the steak and it was BURNT! Not to mention cooked more towards the med/well side. I sent it back and quickly brought me another--while this one definitely had more taste it was under cooked this time. I think they were trying to rush and get me something. The salad was bland, the scallops in bacon weren't anything special, however, dessert was fab-o (molton lava cake).

I would give them the benefit of the doubt b/c it was most likely the cooks fault but when you are paying that kind of money there is no room for error.

  • If you want the very best

Morton's of Chicago hs the best Prime uts of beef in the City. The service is first class and the overall experience leaves you wanting more.

  • Not for the PRICE

    Review rating : 1out of 5   yvonsilk - 10/19/2006

My wifes b-day and our anniversary are both in December. So this year (2005) we decided to try a few upscale dining facilities. First we dined at Ruth Chris(totaly loved it). Secondly, we tried Mortons. What a let down for the price. The steak was not flavorful, the service poor, just a total waste of money that night. My suggestion, EAT AT RUTH CHRIS.

  • Horrible service

    Review rating : 1out of 5   vesper44 - 03/15/2006

A friend of mine from out of town decided to go to Mortons because she favors the place in her home town. First off I dont prefer Mortons over the other steak houses in the city but it was her wishes. On March 10th we decided to make reservations at 9:30 we show up around 9:35. If you are interested in dining in a dark jail cell then hey you'll like mortons no character dark and cold just like its staff. But i guess thats what you opt for when dining at mortons, if you like that kind of thing. We told the hostess the last name on the reservation. A good 10 minutes goes by and we both realize that we have been standing in the same spot for a long time without any further help besides telling the hostess our last name. I then ask her how long it will be until we are seated she then stated the manager will seat you he'll be with you in a second. An additional 5 minutes goes by i then ask her where is the manager. She pointed over with a grin on her face at a man standing in the bar conversating with another man smoking a cigar and drinking a glass of whiskey. At this point of time i'm pissed. First off i have a reservation! Second off its not very hospitable to have your clients wait while you sip on a drink and conversate with another guest. I then ask the hostess what was taking the manager so long she smiled and said he'll be with you when he is ready. At that point in time i decided to leave. If I'm paying $38 dollars for a Filet and $75 for lobster then i want service. If it takes them that long to sit me then how long for them to take my order, or to even prepare the food. Obviously Good Service isnt on their menu. I've been to far better restaurants where the staff was not nearly as stuffy and took pride in their job and did it very well. A couple recommendations would be to go to Flemings Steak house, Jordans, Capital Grille, or Charleston. Piss of Mortons!!!!!!

  • The Chef

One of the chefs is a family friend. So if he's there make sure Chef AJ cooks your steak!

  • GREAT FOOD !

    Review rating : 4out of 5   lsmith6001 - 02/17/2005

I was very impressed with the consistency of the quality and taste across the board. Everything foodwise was perfect as you would expect from the price you are paying. Open area dining which made the experience a little noisy kept the rating from 5 stars. Morton's needs some partitions between tables for a quieter atmosphere. If you are expecting the BEST Baltimore has to offer foodwise, I recommend Morton's.
