Since 1974, Jimmy's has been the innovator in fine seafood in Baltimore. Winners of several awards for our jumbo lump crab cakes, crab soup, and hot steamed crabs, we have raised the bar year after year for Baltimore dining. Jimmy's offers an extensive menu ranging from Lamb Chops to T-bone stuffed with Crab Imperial.

Every other seafood and crab restaurant in Baltimore can only strive to be second best. Jimmy's set the bar and continues to raise it. The sons have taken control of the business and continue to evolve and keep the place fresh and full of new ideas. A true Baltimore tradition and a personal favorite.

I to was a Jimmys patron. My wife and i would go eat lunch and would get great crabs there.
But in the past year or so the service has gone downhill the Quality has not been good, and it seems that when you get crabs to take home all you get are crabs smaller than what you pay for and also light almost a soupcrab grade.
we will not be going back. We are now going out to "By the docs"in middle river, for our Seafood and Capt Jimmies crab house in edgemere for all our steamed crabs (they are the best and do not rip you off)

I have been a very faithful customer and I will say that during the rocky period after the death of Jimmy his sons were not aloud to take control and the restaurant looked it. Now that the restaurant is under the control of Jimmy's sons as it should be, Jimmy's famous seafood restaurant looks wonderful. The place has been remodeled and looks fantastic. The recently updated restaurant serves wonderful food. Everything was good, the food, the service, the atmosphere. I look forward to my weekly visit. It's as if Jimmy was back! Great Job Boys.

  • Good Crabs.....But Roaches?

    Review rating : 2out of 5   asexycherri - 08/28/2006

I've been going to Jimmy's Seafood for years. I can say honestly that since Jimmy passed, the quality and care of the restaurant and it's patrons has progressively gone down hill. How disappointing this would be for Jimmy, who worked so hard to make his restaurant one of the top seafood spots in Baltimore.

On a recent trip to Jimmy's, my crabs were delivered after 45 minutes, and as they were dumped onto the table, so was a dead cockroach. Sorry, but that is not what I want to see when I'm hungry for crabs. Needless to say, we left at that moment, and still were expected to pay for the cream of crab soup and drinks.

I will not be going back.

  • Great crabs but.....

My brother- in-law chose Jimmy's for his father's 75 birthday party because of the restaurants rave reviews. 14 of us in total, ages ranging from 5-83. Our waitress seemed to be in the weeds. We ordered crab pretzels, 6 dozen crabs, a couple of crab pretzels, a couple of crab cakes etc. It took for ever to get our appetizers. They arrived with the crab cakes. Where where our crabs? Other tables ,e seated after our party , where served before us. My sister asked another waitress for rolls for the younger ,ones whom where famished. I hour later our crabs arrived. Adding insult to injury, my sister, asked the hostess to put an ice cream cake in the freezer. Instead it was put into the refrigerator. 4 hours or so later, asking our waitress for the cake ,it hadn't arrived. My sister and brother-in-law repeatedly asked for the cake.It had melted. The guest honor and party where served ice cream soup.

Our crabs where excellent but the wait staff needs to be more attentive no matter how busy they are.

  • GOOD, BUT NO SEAS....

    Review rating : 3out of 5   charlesh2720 - 05/06/2005

I was blessed w/ 80's recently. Very good , but Seaside's carry out jumbos beat up Jimmy's by a T.K.O. in the 9th round. Some were no more than a good #1 male. Others were a little lite. At Seaside, I have never in 4 years of carry out had a lite or hollow JUMBO....... A TRUE JUMBO
