In a neighborhood known for an extra helping of personality, Fells Point's Blue Moon Cafe stands out for its quirkiness and charm as wells as its tasty breakfasts, served up in portions so generous as to be legendary. Morning staples like French toast and pancakes are superb, but don't be afraid to try a creative concoction like crab benedict, vegetarian benedict or chorizo and eggs, a Mexican sausage mixed with scrambled eggs and served on a flour tortilla. If you've got a sweet tooth, you won't want to miss the big and gooey homebaked cinnamon rolls.

Smoothies, fresh-squeezed juices and espresso round out the beverage selection. One note of caution, it's strictly BYOB, so if you crave a mimosa or a bloody mary with your brunch, come prepared. The space isn't that big, so crowds often spill out on to busy Aliceanna Street, but nobody seems to mind the wait. --Melissa Nurczynski

  • THINGS NOT METIONED !!!! BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW

    Review rating : 1out of 5   Raquel524 - 08/17/2009

Like everybody else I was very excited to be able to go see what this cafe is all about, but I was truly disappointed!
    1. HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE!!, very rude people, I have never in my life been treated like that. IT RUINED MY WHOLE EXPERIENCE!!!! I had to practically beg someone to take my take out order! and they gave me attitute, but i figured, the food most be worth it!
So we ordered take-out, they told us 30 minutes, we waited an HOUR! and when we went to ask, more ATTITUDE!!!
    2. FOOD , ALRIGHT! I ordered the omelet, which was average! the captain church toast was good, but not out of this world, for SURE NOT WORTH going through, BAD SERVICE and an hour wait for a toast!
    3. REVIEWS say not kid, family or group friendly, I THINK ITS NOT PEOPLE FRIENDLY AT ALL!!!!!!!!
NOT WORTH MY TIME OR YOURS

How can anyone give this place less than 5 stars? We were skeptical as we waited for a table, but the first bite made every minute worth it!!! It was a week ago and we're still talking about the amazing Cap'n Crunch french toast. It truly was delicious and earns our vote for the best breakfast we've ever eaten.

The portions were huge, service was amazing, and THE FOOD WAS THE BEST PART!!!!!!!!!! You have to get the captain crunch French toast. I will definitely be coming back.

    This place is AMAZING!
The food is really good and inexpensive, the Food Network was so right about their Captin' Crunch French Toast! D-lish!
It has such a warm homey feel, I felt like I was at my grandma's for bruch. All of the ingredients were fresh and did i mention delicious?
We were in Baltimore in the Inner Harbour for 3day and we ate there 2days in a row!
I have been dreaming about the french toast for a week now and I can not wait to go back to Baltimore and visit the Blue Moon Cafe! Luckly it's only a 3 1/2hr drive from NYC lol :-)

Be sure to try it for yourself!!

  • The only place for breakfast in Baltimore

    Review rating : 5out of 5   Mitchfam6 - 06/27/2008

Live in Philly...When my wife and i visit Baltimore, we have to have breakfast at The Blue Moon....Excellent food, ecclectic and fun environment. Very small, so expect to be jammed in to your tables during Sat mornings....Highly recommend it!

  • Blue Moon the best omelettes

    Review rating : 5out of 5   briantheda - 05/17/2007

We have been going to Blue Moon three years, service has improved greatly. Sarah the owner sometimes serves and gives the best welcome ever. Homemade hot biscuits with yummy jam !!
We just had a specialty dish poached eggs, lump crab, spinach and unique lite hollandaise sauce . Racheal Ray lookout. :)
Mexican breakfest dishes have a kick with awesome flavor if you like spicy. Huevos Rancheros deee-lish ..
Wait is sometimes long because everything made fresh even the shredded hashbrowns.

  • Worst Service Ever Experienced

    Review rating : 1out of 5   angelino45baltim - 01/15/2007

The food is okay but it comes at a price. The wait staff have an attitude. They asked us to be sat with another party at the same table...which we reluctantly agreed to. As soon as tables opened up we asked to be moved and they first said no, after we pleaded with them because it being uncomfortable for us, they let us move but ignored us the whole meal. We even asked if we could leave but they said because they had already started to make the food that we would have to pay for it. It was the worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant. This is not the first time we have been there and we get the feeling that their service can be as bad as this because the place has enough business. very sad.
