Need a break from your marathon shopping at the Gateway Shopping Center in Everett? Texas Roadhouse is the oasis in the middle of the parking lot, and it will spirit you away from retail explosion into a Texan-themed world of red meat and copious amounts of gravy. Entrees are named things like "Chicken Critters" and "Road Kill" (a chopped steak), so the kids should get a kick out of it -- they can even join the "Roadhouse Ranger" club hosted by Andy the Armadillo.
No one will go hungry here; complimentary warm rolls are served with sweet butter, and you are invited to "load" your potato or add a "sidekick" of ribs to your meal. And if, heaven forbid, you're trying to eat healthy, there are salads and a few other healthier selections. The casual atmosphere notwithstanding, Texas Roadhouse has won awards for its steaks and barbecue; so they're serious about good food. Just try not to wince when you order your "Sassy Sauteed Onions" and a "Big Ol' Brownie."

Start off with the amazing spiced butter on HOT rolls. We always get some to take home. SHHHHHHH
I suggest ordering the desert FIRST. Then order your meal, ANYTHING on the menu is just great. Maybe Tony will cook your meat and he, as many of the other cooks there, take pride in the work that they do. I should call it an art because it is such a pleasure to eat the meat just as it was ordered. Medium Rare, of course.
In most cases there is some to take home, as the portions are fit for a king. Not fido either....
So treat yourself, and that someone special, to a great night out and enjoy the waitstaff as they do a couple of line dances to the loud country hits of today and yesterday.

MAC1199 - 06/06/2008My wife and I went there for the first time and fell in love with the place, great ribs, steaks and other entrees, was very impressed and will go back a lot. I love the atmosphere there as well, just a great place to hang out if you don't mind noise in the backround as it can be very loud with everyone talking over each other. recommend

ErinBliss - 05/15/2008I can't believe this place even made the list. TEXAS BBQ includes things like BEEF ribs. Well, you won't find them on the menu here! Everything BBQ is PORK.
This is like the McD's of BBQ. The only reason to rate it Fair is because it didn't make me sick. But it didn't rock my BBQ Jones either. It's a yawn of a restaurant. I can name 3 or 4 other places that are better. Much better!Great Eats
