Teatro, located in the theater district overlooking the Boston Common, offers a modern approach to classic Italian dishes. The design of Teatro is both elegant and informal. • Excellent post-matinee dining

    Review rating : 4out of 5   rvan - 12/23/2005

I was impressed by the atmosphere, the service, and the food; everything except the music, which was intrusive and did not match the quality of the atmophere. Portions were reasonable, well presented, and served on very hot plates. I had the Mustard Glazed Atlantic Salmon and my wife had the Crispy Lemon Sole.
Delicious. We started with the appetizer special (Mac and cheese like you never had before) and finished with a couple of excellent deserts.
I will recommend this restaurant to my friends who live in the greater Boston area.

  • Not a good pre-movie Dinner

    Review rating : 1out of 5   ericks9 - 05/26/2005

My girlfriend and I had dinner before the new Star Wars movie. I found a hair in my salad and they brought me a new salad. My GF had the whole SeaBass fish and it wasn't too good. My Sirloin steak was average at best (I asked for medium rare and it was blood red). The service was terrible. Finally I had enough and it took forever to get the check from my waiter and we're almost late for the movie. I tipped them less than 20% and noticed today online that they changed the tip to 20% Someone is getting a phone call tomorrow.

Ate there Sat. nite. Everything was right on. We were seated exactly at our reservation time. Service was excellent and friendly, the food was delicious. Pasta al dente, portions generous, prices and wine list were incredibly reasonable. Had the chicken Milanese and could't finish it. Going back soon.

  • TRY AGAIN, GIDDOO!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   moekmal - 01/25/2005

Teatro is terrific! Yes, with it's ceiling, it can get noisy, but that's half the fun...we've never had bad service, never had "tastless" food - in fact, quite the opposite! love it here

  • GIDDOO, GET A GRIP!!!!!!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   jnugent290 - 04/08/2004

Teatro is a fantastic Italian restaurant, and it's not even located in the North End... I agree with Giddoo about the paucity of desserts here, but hey, you can go elsewhere to satisfy your sweet tooth... just make sure you ask for extra nutmeg, or at least a hit of nitrous from the whipped cream dispenser, eh?

  • Not So Good !!!!!

Drinks, calamari, and salad were very good.Very noisey . The main courses the pork shank and the fish filet were tasteless. The desert list wasw almost non existent. Nothing with chocolate !! On a 1 tp 10 I give this very high priced place a FIVE.....
