Best Risotto I've Had
My experience at Teatro was flawless. We started off with the Eggplant Parmigiana and Creamy Wild Mushroom Risotto. They were both in small "table sharing" portions. The Eggplant Parmigiana was prepared in a traditional way. That was really what I expected, however, the Creamy Wild Mushroom Risotto was to die for. It was the best risotto dish I've tasted. As an entrée, I had the Wild Boar, with Gnocchi and Melted Cheese. In addition to the fabulous taste, the presentation was beautiful. My mother indulged herself in the Grilled Mustard Glazed Salmon with Asparagus, in an Oyster Mushroom Pan Sauce. She was blown away. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, and the service was spectacular. I will definitely be returning.
Add CommentOne of the best in Boston
As a regular at this place I am a bit biased. However, I must say that this is one of the better Italian restaurants in Boston (my absolute favorite is still L'Osteria in the North End.) The Bolognese is the best dish on the menu and I consider it their signature creation. Thankfully, Jamie hasn't priced this place as high as Mistral or Mooo. It's also a great place to just stop in for a drink just before or after a show. Even more so now that they have expanded the bar. The service is always friendly and the atmosphere is both animated and chic. Great place to go people watching as well. My only complaints are that I don't get there as often as I used to and they no longer serve Stella Artois. But that won't stop me from bringing business associates and dates to this jewel.

Use to be great
This was one of our favorite place to go for diner or drinks!! We would go at least twice a month and we loved the place. The service was outstanding and we felt at home. Unfortunately there was a lot of turnover at the management position as well as with the bartenders and we feel the service has really gone down hill, particularly at the bar. The two bartenders ( a blond male and a dark haired female) on Friday evenings are very rude and extremely unfriendly, unlike like their predecessors who would go out of their way to make you feel welcome. In the past Dave the manager would always go out of his way to make repeat customers like us feel welcome, but he has transferred to Mistral there is no one there who seems to care. Both my wife and I we treated very poorly and will never return. This is too bad as we spent many evenings there and always brought along friends and family. I would recommend that if you want to go to a friendly bar and be treated with respect that you not go here.
Misled
My husband and I travel to Boston on monthly basis on business and a lot times with partners. I made the n=mistake of taking some very important business men there for dinner and it was terrible. Quality of food was terrible and so was service. I wouldn't recommend this place to even have a beer in a glass.
Not so great
My husband and I went after Blue Man Group one Sunday. He had made reservations a couple of weeks before, and I was anxious to eat at a restaurant with a well-known chef. We watched other people being seated and I was hoping for a good table (given the long lead time on the reservation), but we were seated elbow-to-elbow with other parties, one with an incredibly foul mouth, and on the other side a party who listed to every word we said. I got the sole, which was disappointing. My husband had the bolognese, which was "fine". The woman next to me had some very nice looking scallops, but I didn't find them on the menu and we weren't informed of any specials. It's too bad, but I felt like we would have been happier in a pub with basic bar food.
Best Italian Fusion In Boston
This restaurant is not for the inexperienced dining public. The whole bass is an amazing BUT WHOLE bass. Do not even attempt to order the pork to temperature. The antipasto is amazing, as is the whole appetizer menu. The pastas and entrees are unique and full of flavor. The ambience can be loud, but it is a beautiful and great place to dine pre or post theatre, or just for fun. The wait staff has taken a dive in recent months, but, on the whole, this restaurant is one of the best in Boston. Period.
