For a nightclub that's only open two nights a week, The Roxy has easily positioned itself into legendary status among the techno and house dance crowd. Powered by a huge sound and light show that is matched only by its cross-town rival, Avalon, this royal complex can drive a beat through your rib cage and pump you full of adrenaline so fast you'll be buying the $4 bottled water without flinching.

Around midnight is when things really get pumping. The crowd of about 2,000 ranges from rookies who just want to people-watch to the VIPs and show-offs clad in nothing but the best and most revealing designer wear. Scope out the action from the upper balcony or mix it up underneath the stage dancers. There's usually hip-hop and R&B on Fridays, followed by techno and house on Saturdays. For the ladies, The Roxy hosts special Chippendale's nights and, from time to time, reggae and rock bands take over the stage. Any way you slice it, for a night of serious clubbing, it's hard to beat The Roxy. -- Jack Morris

I can't believe how bad The Roxy has been. The staff was old 5 yrs ago and it's even older now. 3 fights happend while I was there, we were petrified. Not going back.

i havent been here in years and it sucked so bad back in the day i can only imagine it still sucks. try fanueil hall its nice there.

It may have been good back in the day. But now it ias over crouded and over priced. Once was enough with me.. I like to go to real clubs.

I don't know when was the last times you guys went to the Roxy but the place sucks so bad. Please take it off the best club list that's insult to Boston. If someone from out of town think that's our best club they'll never come back. It's sucks so bad that they are close on fridays. what a waste of space. They need new management or need to do something. The Roxy is like the Titananic . The big ship is sinking and fast I mean real fast

it was great in the day but sorry guys and gals its time has passed , the water is now 5 bucks ,and the drinks almost 10 , parking is 20 , thats if you can get a spot , the guys at the door will only give you s/;' for your hard earned 20 , and sorry the music ,well on friday its just packed getto with too much atitude ,and saturday is more of the same only spanish ! where is the techno that built this place !!! bring your insurance card there no shoretage of fights , r. i. p. roxy

Sure this place was fun in college. Now I realize its just full of meatheads, silly hoes, and expensive drinks packed into small plastic cups. If you like the club scene I guess its alright and is a little (but not much) classier than anything on Lansedown street. The one positive aspect of this place is that it is large enough to provide adequate dancing space and there is usually plenty of couch space on the second floor..
