Reasonably priced gourmet Italian cuisine, prepared in traditional brick-oven style.
Antico Forno is well known for their brick oven pizza but offers an extensive Italian menu to suit every palate. The open layout and new bar area provides a setting for both large groups and intimate dinners. Located on Salem St a short walk from both Commercial and Hanover Streets, Antico Forno escapes the traffic and noise which adds to the relaxing environment and dining experience.

In Short
Most everything on the rustic menu is cooked in a burning brick oven, as the restaurant's name implies (antico forno means "old oven"). The diminutive dining room hosts a mix of loyal locals and tourists, and can get quite noisy when full. Thin-crust pizzas (toppings include homemade sausage, imported buffalo mozzarella and sautéed shrimp) and baked pasta dishes emerge from the oven piping hot. Fresh salads, wood-grilled seafood and homemade pastas round out the menu.

I have been to anrico forno several times and have been served wonderful food by a very friendly staff. My girlfriend and I both love it and make every effort to go when we feel like eating out. We have had just about every antipasto they have and most of pizza offered. The caprese L'insalata is simple but the freshness of the ingredients really brings out the essense of italian food that I grew up with; simple, yet flavourful. The pizza is thin and comes with a perfectly crisp crust. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Antico Forno is one of the best resturants in the North End and should be paid a visit by anyone interested in good italian food.
Good stuff
Waitstaff is great and friendly, every dish is wonderful, but for pizza go to Santarpios, you just cant beat it.
Great food and service

We went to Antico Forno after a show at the Fleet Center and a harrowing walk through a snow storm. In spite of having 3 little kids with us we were welcomed and treated warmly. My daughter, the family wine expert found us some great wines and we all felt relaxted as we enjoyed the authentic and delicious food. They even prepared 'special' dishes for the kids. We were all impressed!
Antico Forno,via Italia!

1)preparation of meal,4stars.A masterpiece, flowing with originality.2)Quality&Quantity.superbly executed, favorably filling yet ample room to savour the finish of this enticingly exciting dinner experience.
One of the best in the North End

My fiance and I are major fans of Antico Forno. The porcini pizza is to die for! The service is always great (and we've been there a dozen times!) I have never had a bad meal at Antico Forno! The one poor review this restaurant got was insane- I find it very hard to believe!! Antico Forno is the best!
A North End Favorite
Antico Forno is one of my favorite restaurants in the North End - the food is rustic and delicious. I like the casual atmosphere too. It's a shame that the post below, that clearly shouldn't be taken seriously, affects the overall rating on this great restaurant.
UNBELIEVABLY BAD AND RUDE, TOO!!

I stopped in here this evening around 4:30 hoping for a good Italian meal. A waitress saw me and gestured that we should step outside. "No," I said, "I wanna eat!" She stood fast by her guns and pushed me out. I've got scars on my face and a speech defect that makes me sound like I'm constantly inebriated, but still, I've been to Italy three times in my life and frankly this kind of treatment pissed me off. The people actually dining in this dive looked like they were having fun and were eating magnificent food... BLECCHH, I say. I ended up eating at D'amore's across the street, where the waitresses were kind and civilized
