Tourists and natives alike count on a rockin' good times at B.B. King's Blues Club, named yearly in the Top 10 best bars in town. Located on booming Beale Street, B.B.'s caters to a packed house almost nightly in their impressive, two-story upscale club. Those looking for a down and dirty juke joint will be disappointed: B.B.'s offers a clean and classy venue for blues, booze and plenty of celebrities. Some of the city's finest entertainers, such as Joyce Cobb, the B.B. King All Stars or Ruby Wilson groove regularly while patrons show off their coordination skills on a large dance floor. Menu items include such Southern favorites as catfish, gumbo, BBQ ribs and other classics. If you come on the right night, the staff might even roll out the red carpet for a special performance by the namesake himself, B.B. King. A Memphis blues joint not to be missed, B.B.'s provides hours of entertainment on the city's most famous street. -- Thania Evans

The last time I was there the BarKays were singing. It's been a while. Probably the only place left to hear authentic Memphis music since Blues Alley closed down. Only problem is, if you want to have a conversation, you have to carry it outside, because brother, it's LOUD in there!

  • Bouncers Murdered Patron 1997

    Review rating : 0out of 5   zandernat - 01/26/2006

In what all eyewitnesses concur was a wholy unprovoked attack, eight of the bouncers employed by BB King's Blues Club bludgeoned, suffocated and crused a young tourist to death on July 17, 1997. I personally don't want to go to a place where the employees murder the guests and I don't think anyone else would either, if they know about it. BB Kings has done everything they can to hush up the incident but the truth always comes out eventually. Be very, very careful if you go to this hell hole.
