First there was New York. Then LA and San Francisco. Now the famous martinis-and-manicures club makes its debut in Las Vegas. Just a stiletto's throw from the giant, flashing neon canopy of Fremont Street Experience, Beauty Bar mixes potent drinks with nail polish and blow-outs. The feel is reminiscent of the 'Beauty School Dropout' sequence in 'Grease,' complete with blow dryers, manicure tables and enough attitude to be a real city salon. This is no faux boutique, though; the inside is an actual salvage of the original Capri Salon of Beverly, which thrived in Trenton, NJ, in the late 1950s. Despite its vintage roots, Beauty Bar is actually part of a larger effort to class up Downtown Las Vegas. It might be onto something; this is one Vegas drinking establishment where virtually everyone stumbles out of the bar looking better than when they came in.
