The Slippery Noodle Inn is as much an Indianapolis landmark as Monument Circle or the speedway. It's the oldest bar in The Circle City (established in 1850) and has been a blues institution since 1963. It's even said that famous Hoosier criminal John Dillinger hung around the bar and used a back wall for target practice. No matter what night of the week, Hoosiers will find local, regional or national blues acts performing live. The bar even has its own recording label, Slippery Noodle Sound, which has produced 12 releases by acts such as Gene Deer, Yank Rachell, Gordon Bonham, Jimmy Ley and more. But there is more to this bar than blues -- the Inn features a game room, two big-screen TVs and seven smaller ones, plus a full menu. Favorites include the Whiskey Pepper Steak Sub, the breaded tenderloin, steaks and, of course, the nachos. -- Lyn Mettler

The Best Bar in the World
I've been to a few bars in my time in most parts of the world - I tell you this one stands out there as one of the best in the world - Outstanding music (WT Feaster is the Daddy and getting more popular in the UK by the minute) - Outstanding people in Indy too - I get to Indy on business about 4 times a year and I make the noodle without fail - so should you! One of the top 100 things to do before you die! Also the Brunswick in Derby in the UK comes a close 2nd - better beer but the music not as good!

Went to the Slippery Noodle last weekend to check out one of the most famous places in Indy. LOVED the bar. The ambiance is very fun, the bands always have the place rocking, and the prices aren't too bad.
The food isn't anything to write home about... just your typical bar food in taste and selections. The wings are pretty damned good though - I'd highly recommend those!
I had a dirty martini and the bartender made it quite well. This is my test of bartenders, as most make it either with too much or too little olive juice. This was probably the second best I've ever had.Totally awesome
Came to Indy for a conference two yrs ago and some of us wandered into the Noodle for a drink and some live music. What an absolutely wonderful night. The Blues band that was there (can't remember the name too many margaritas) was awesome. We danced all night and everyone in the Noodle was very very friendly and welcoming. Patrons and staff. Thank you for a memorable and can't wait to do it again evening.
Always Great Fun!!
I come in from Chicago a couple of times a year and always have a blast at the Noodle.
